Assembly was easy, the wood was a little soft but should be OK now that's all constructed. I purchased a kennel safe clear sealer which I will apply after the turtle comes in for the winter.
My only complaints are that it is pretty hard for me to reach the center of the cage from either end. And I wish the wood was a little better quality.
We acutally bought this product for our cats who are indroor but enjoy the sun and the grass on occasion. This way they are still safe. They haven't tried to get out by pushing the top open but we are not waiting to see if they do and we place a piece of fire wood on each side to weigh it down.
Otherwise, the cage feels very flimsy and I'm worried it may get destroyed easily. I also don't think it should sit out in the rain.
Bottomline: even though it does it's job now it's overpriced for the quality
Anyway, it makes a great indoor cage, with much more room than the average hutch or cage (which tend to be much too small). I leave the door open much of the time, too, so bunny can romp or explore in the house. He spends a lot of time inside the cage anyway -- he clearly likes it and feels comfy in there.
I use cardboard for under the cage, and replace it every couple of weeks. Bunny has a great time tearing it all up and making a mess inside the cage. Then he gets to do it all again when I replace it. Endless fun :)
If you're looking for an easy-to-set-up area for your indoor bunny, this item works perfectly.
