As I have shared in many of my other reviews, I have been slowly been building a bug out bag for emergency situations. Obviously medical supplies is a necessity for any emergency kit so I have been looking for a lightweight, comprehensive medical kit to put in my pack. This particular kit caught my eye because of its light weight (only 15 oz.) and compactness so it can easily be packed along all my other gear.Read more ›
It has everything you need for a a day hike and any unforeseen mishaps. With this kit, you can travel with confidence knowing you have the tools at your disposal incase there is an injury on the trail.
I would recommend this for day hikes.
PROS: I love the case, and the layout inside, great for personalizing it as needed. Covers tons of FAK needs. This case separates the supplies by the conditions being treated, and seems pretty robust so should be useful a long time as I resupply it.
CONS: Mainly, I was unhappy that the kit is only good for 15 months beyond my purchase. I was expecting 2-3 years. Also, I find the kit to be broad in it's supplies for different conditions, but at the cost of being a bit short on things that are most likely to be needed, or useful in less likely but dangerous situations. I feel I have to buy extra aspirin/Ibuprofin, moleskin, quikclot to make the kit more to my taste, and I don't want to carry around the book, syringe, and some of the knicknacks in there while hiking, they seem like car camping type things...which maybe this kit is meant for.
