Spectacular.

Spectacular.
Spectacular book. Really. I got it for a 13 year old who is very into illustration and he was glued to it. Everyone who passed by couldn't resist. This thing is chock full of different types of art and information. Concept art, how-to's, merchandise mock-ups, andtests. I think I may get one for myself. BTW, it's heavy. Noticeably heavy, which feels substantial. The dust jacket is cool, but underneath is the actual cover, which is yellow, and is awesome.

I own many art books. I'm an artist and an animator by trade, so I favor those sorts of art books. There will be days where I sit in my living room, a stack of them all around me, and I'll read through them for hours. So I knew, as a fan of the show's background designs specifically, that I needed to add Adventure Time: The Art of Ooo to my collection as soon as I heard of its release.
I was not disappointed.
In fact, The Art of Ooo has changed my expectations for art books. This book is special. It's the book I recommend to those aspiring toward an animation career regardless on if they've seen Adventure Time or not. This book is THOROUGH; it is so much more than a collection of beautiful illustrations. You get the show's origin story. You learn about the team behind the Adventure Time universe. You glimpse their studio process, their pitch bible, and even the art tests they send to prospective new recruits. I learned so much from this book. I'm STILL learning so much from this book.
The Art of Ooo is huge. You won't be carrying this book with you on the train to read during your commute -- heck, it's difficult enough reading it before bed! The book is heavy, but it's overflowing with excellent information and amazing artwork. Out of my entire collection, this art book is my favorite. It'll surely become yours, too!

My book was damaged. The front of the cover was torn at the bottom. The packaging was intact. Lame. The book is great though. Pretty much everything you could want to know or see about Adventure Time is here. I especially liked all of the sketches and how it included the rejected drawings and the accepted ones. It's pretty fun to imagine Finn carrying one of the reject swords or all of Marcy's outfit concepts and hair styles that we never saw. Lots of fun. There's a lot of art that you just never see in the show. It also features a lot of still by still images of some of the best scenes artistically. Like Jake stretching his body through a mesh wall. I especially like the art from the earlier episodes. You can see how it was more similar to your standard, kind of raunchy modern Cartoon Network show, and then slowly evolved into its own little universe and totally changed with time.

This is an amazing book. Not just because the book itself is HUGE, but because it is a pretty comprehensive review of what went into the making of Adventure Time. Quality images, binding, etc. I've been a fan of the series for the past few years. This book lends a great deal more "technical" depth to the series. The presence of the "brainy" underpinnings behind the show is evident in each episode, but it's really cool to actually get a look at what's "really" happening behind the scenes and why. Great book for fans of the series and those who'd like to get a closer look at what goes into the making of a series like Adventure Time.

I cannot say enough of how great this book is. I look at it with my kids and definitely paints an amazing picture of the world of Ooo that we have fallen in love with. Don't even give this a second though and buy it already! The book is super think and bound extremely well. When you remove the dust cover jacket, the book looks as regal as any fine art book there is. The construction fully compliments the holland is a winner for sure.

If you are still reading this and haven't bought it you are wasting valuable time! It a wonderful and inviting book that anyone would be ecstatic to own.

A high-quality book printed in the vibrant colors that make the show so visually engaging. Aside from the history of the show (how the show made its way onto the Cartoon Network), the creative process, and background info about the major characters (as well as cursory information about the minor ones), the book includes the drawing guide and interview "audition" given to the illustrators - so if you want to create your own fan art, you have the basics.

If you are a fan of the show, this really is a "must have." And I don't say this very often.

As an aspiring Illustrator and huge fan of Adventure Time, I loved this book it and found it very inspiring. The cover and lay out is very appealing. It only includes art all the way up to season 5, so I hope there will be another addition for the final 5 seasons and all three of the mini series!

This book is HUGE. I mean I didn't expect it to be such a large book, and it's filled with pages upon pages of amazing art, and is a great investment for anyone of any age. I'm 21, and my father who is in his 50's also enjoys this book not only for the art but the in-depth look into the process, story boarding, character design, animation, everything. It. Is. Worth. IT. Love this book, deeply.

Beautiful. I love this book. As a graphic designer and professional illustrator, I appreciate the artwork, story-telling and white space that compose the design of the publication itself. Beyond the design, the content is great, interesting, and easy to follow. It is a great coffee table book to just pick up a few times a week and read a small section. So fun for creatives, artists, animation enthusiasts, and accountants (my husband is a CPA, bought it for me)!

I love this book. It's big, bold and yellow! It's not just your average "the art of" book either. It's brimming with fascinating insights into the land of Ooo and how it was brought to life through the wacky artwork of its creators. All the main characters are featured as you would expect but there's loads of early sketches and concept art too. For example, there's a great page about how they designed the logo with the sword. It's a really vibrant book and the offbeat humour of the show really comes across in the pages of this hardcover coffee table book too.
