Explore new worlds without booking a flight! In Adventures Beyond the Body, William Buhlman recounts his fascinating experiences with astral travel, connects this phenomenon with current cosmological theories, and suggests that we all have the capability to travel to parallel universes. Don't worry about getting lost--Adventures is filled with well mapped methods for finding your way out of your body and into other worlds. Control is Buhlman's mantra, specifically control over our fear of the unknown. He precisely addresses the common events that can occur during an out-of-body experience, taking the fear out of the journey, and allowing you to focus on living the adventure. --Brian Patterson
"An intriguing guidebook for those who want to venture beyond the horizon of ordinary reality."--Raymond Moody, author of" Life After Life"

It was like starting out reading a good story and then someone else stepped in and started writing a "scientific" journal or directions on how to program an electronic device..very dry...at least to me and I read a LOT of medical books for school...I wanted more of a description of what was going on NOT the beliefs he had about what was going on.
I like the way the material is arranged. The book begins with excerpts from the author's journal and interesting stories from his own out-of-body explorations as well as learnings. It isn't just about getting out of the body, but about exploring different dimensions with higher and higher vibrations and apart from the fun and adventure, the learnings revolve around one's spiritual evolution which is based on facing one's fears, dropping them, and gaining greater and greater liberation and expansion in consciousness through the realization of one's immortal and indestructible spirit.
I like that the author is sharing not only his experiences, but also his learnings and realizations along the way, pointing out that not only is the universe thought-responsive and we tend to experience that which matches our state of consciousness, but also that we may request to experience as formless vibration, as the forms we experience are projections of our (and consensus) consciousness, and just like in the dreams we dream while we sleep, where our emotions are expressed through the symbolism we have subconsciously accepted, so it happens during out of body experiences - and this becomes more obvious as one enters higher stated of consciousness, of higher vibrations.
"Reality is relative. Experienced reality is relative to the personal energy frequency of the observer. We experience the energy frequencies closest to our personal density or vibratory rate. Consciousness is a form of non-physical energy extending its influence into matter through the use of biological vehicles. Our current perception that consciousness is within the physical body is incorrect. Consciousness exists at a much higher frequency or wavelength than matter. Consciousness is a continuum of nonphysical energy extending its awareness through multiple frequencies(dimensions) of the universe."
I have found this books useful also because due to extensive experience and dealing with all kinds of situations, the author has found the way to successfully resolve the situation where an inexperienced person may become stuck, and the reader, armed with information and tips that worked for the author and many other people, can cut the learning curve.
The author then shares common challenges that people experience and the ways to overcome them. He then shares varieties of techniques for preparing for the out of body experience and techniques for consciously separating from the physical body. One simple technique involves continuously repeating the affirmation as you drift to sleep: "Now I have a fully conscious out of body experience. Now I'm out of my body!"
You will find lots of great tips on dealing with different challenges and controlling the experience after you find yourself out of body.
All in all, the book is easy and fun to read and it's immensely helpful. I have read all kinds of books on out of body experiences, but this is my favorite.
