Editorial Reviews

Yes, you know Blueprint. Maybe it was his last album on Rhymesayers, '1988' or the project with RJD2, 'Soul Position.' Or was it on the independent Hip Hop tour Paid Dues or on the road with Atmosphere? If you've listened to Blueprint's music or seen him live, then you know it's always an adventure when this Ohio native enters the studio. Five years in the making, 'Adventures In Counter-Culture,' is Blueprint's most ambitious album to date. This is not what you expect. This is the album that Blueprint has waited his whole life to make. This is the adventure you've been waiting for. Keep bouncing.

I bought this album after listening to and liking the Blueprint Who EP. I also listen to keep bouncing, so alive, and radio inactive before buying it. I like all of those song especially radio inactive, so I figure the rest of the album was probably worth buying. The first track probably explains this album the best, saying that Blueprint is willing to pull a different sound then most people in rap are willing to do. This album sounds different then any other hip-hop album I own because it strays away from just hip-hop. In tracks like "Welcome Home" and "The Other Side" there is a strong vocal harmony and instrumental melody that become more of the focus then the flows. Some of the other tracks also have strong vocal harmony during the chorus which strays away from the normal underground sound that most people are use to. Overall I like this CD a lot because it brings something new to the hip-hop genre. My favorite tracks were "Go Hard or Go Home", "Wanna Be Like You", "My Culture", "Stole our Yesterdays", "Radio-Inactive", "Welcome Home", and "The Clouds". I think it's great album all the way through and I'm happy with my purchase.

I loved this new album by Print, it shows a modern, different side of hip-hop that can include fly melodies alongside the hot raps. My favorite tracks are 'Automatic', 'Radio-inactive', 'The Clouds', 'Fly Away', Welcome home', and 'So Alive' (videos seen on MTV.com). But i have to say i do keep this Cd in constant rotation lately for all the tracks on it. Very easy to see why folks love to see Blueprint perform live!! I can tell his "heart&soul" went into this, so don't be caught slipping and miss this one.

Let me start off by saying that this an AMAZING album from an even more amazing artist. I'm a metal and punk rock fan who hasn't purchased a rap album since the takeover of gangsta rap until I heard Blueprint's 1988 play on my Pandora Run DMC station and was immediately hooked. I ended up purchasing every studio album within a few days and was pleasantly surprised to see that I was just in time for a brand new album on April 28th when King No Crown was released. This man is without a doubt THE most talented artist to hit ANY genre since forever ago. The only reason I'm giving this a 1 star review instead of the 5 stars that the album and artist deserve is that I purchased the "clean version" by accident due to the fact that Amazon doesn't make it clear that's what you're getting until it's too late and the sale has already gone thru. Just a word of warning for anyone who is making this purchase, the album is absolutely phenomenal, as is EVERYTHING from Blueprint, but if you're reading this review then please be aware that the album version you're looking at right now is edited which is NOT something most fans would want. Thanks amazon. Now evidently I've gotta purchase the same album twice.

I cant believe there was only four reviews for this album!this is a classic! Go hard or go home sets the mind set for this album and radio inactive is an important song for hip hop.the album overallxmusic wise is well produced by blueprint sets the tone for the lyrics. Lyricly its the most mature aggressive and determined blueprint has been. Buy this album and just press play and check out 1988 and greenhouse effect blueprints group.
