interesting sci-fi superhero story

The adventures of Dogg girl is a superhero sci-fi story filled with fantasy and adventure. The story begins with Karissa Dogg living in a city where superheroes exist. She is an intelligent character living her life away from drama. Kary is a kickboxer and is a caged animal but tries to keep a balanced life. When a sidekick superhero named, Aspect enters life, things change. The world of Commonland is exposed.
I particularly enjoyed the world described. Norms and supers were an interesting concept. Kary’s personality as a lead female protagonist pulled the story together. The pace of the story was steady and possessed a dynamic of action and adventure.

The author has created a good story and based on the characters, side storylines, and descriptive writing, it was apparent to notice how the book could have become a series. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Kary Dogg to the Rescue

“The Adventures of Dogg Girl and Sidekick” take me back to my youth, when as a boy I was consumed by the heroics of Superman, Batman and Robin, the Green Hornet, and others. From the fertile imagination of Jennifer deBie comes’ a new story of super heroes, “supers”, who, of course, are endowed with super powers. They, like their predecessors of my childhood, maintain their anonymity by way of masks. As they prosecute the business of fighting crime their identities remain unknown to all humans, what deBie refers to as norms; that is, all but one, Kary Dogg. Kary is a feisty college student that, when not engaged in her studies, can be found at a local gym sparring as a kick boxer, or tutoring Spanish. It is during one of her tutoring sessions she makes the discovery that the boy she is coaching, Johnny, is in fact a super, Aspect. A friendship develops which eventually matures into a trust that extends to other supers.

Unlike the super heroes of my youth, who were one dimensional and predictable, the supers crafted by deBie are complex characters that struggle with their own emotions. And there is nothing predictable in the relationships that develop between Kary Dogg and the supers. This book has fast paced action, it has love interest, and even betrayal. Do yourself a favor, buy it, read it, and tell your friends.

Fresh look at a superhero tale!

I'm always a sucker for a superhero story, especially a fresh one like The Adventures of Dogg Girl and Sidekick.
The writing style makes it easy to dig into this book. It's clear, concise, but also delightfully descriptive. The dialogue flows very realistically, which is hard to do in fiction!
I love how much the author seems to have thought about character development, one of my favorite aspects to any good story. The "supers" in this tale may have super powers, but they are also human, and I think that is shown well, like so: "He bounded off toward the waiting car before she could react; either slap him...or drag him down and show him a proper kiss." So many of us have felt these conflicted emotions!

I hope to read more by Jennifer deBie in the future!

A Superhero Narrative for Heart

From the brain of Jenni debie to the beautiful pages in front of me, I love this story. It's a reminder and testament to the narrative that while we can take a passive seat in life and in the caring and protection of others, often our stories start when we take an active role in caring about other people. This genuine and action-packed read builds a wonderful world with an engaging heroine with a plot thats easy to sink your mind and heat into.
