Top customer reviews
First of all, I have read other books by talented Author Ginae Lee Scott. She writes in more than one genre and is able to do so very well. I always admire authors who are able to do this.
I very much enjoy reading and reviewing children's books and this one is no exception. This chapter book is a wonderful introduction to Samantha and her brother Lil'T as she fondly calls him. The Fellows are in the process of moving to a new neighborhood on Maple Street. Along with the movers and their parents, Samantha and Lil'T work very hard to settle into their new home. Both children love the interior with its winding staircase and upstairs balcony. They love their new bedrooms too, although, Samantha has yet to choose her paint color. Lil'T on the other hand solicits Samantha's help to sway their mother away from the racecar theme. Lil'T no longer desires to decorate his bedroom this way.
The biggest thrill for these two youngsters comes when, on the second day in their new home and after a good night's sleep, they enter into their backyard. Your child will not want to miss a word of what they discover there...
Great book for school aged children and one that many of them can relate to...when or if, they have the opportunity to move to a new home, make new friends, or go to a new school.
