"I loved this book. it was well written, kept my interest from the very beginning up to the end of it and when I was done, it was one of the books I put on my read again shelf, a keeper. it was that good! I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could!" (Loraine O. - Five Stars)
“So, I couldn’t give this book any less than the full 5 stars. Too often subs are portrayed as weak, bewildered and passive, and Doms as over aggressive, control freaks. Nothing could be further from the truth. I loved that the Trish was bratty, and had real power within the relationship, and that Clint had vulnerabilities. Getting the balance right in this genre is a real talent. Deanndra Hall has talent to spare. As for the sex, forgetaboutit!!!! You have never read sex as hot as this before!!!! Turn on the air con, you’re gonna need it! It is the perfect book, thank you, thank you, Deanndra Hall." (Michelle R. - Five Stars)
“I love Deanndra Hall's books. She has a way of making everyone sexy. This book is the same way. I loved following Trish's journey as her life went from destroyed to redeemed between the pages. This story made me laugh, cry, and curse out loud at point in the story. These characters become so real, you forget you are reading a book. I found myself rooting for her, hoping beyond hope that her story would have a good ending. I guess you will have to read it to find out." (Miss Heidi - Five Stars)
"Chalk this one up as a timeless story with a heavy dose of kink. It has earned a spot on my keeper shelf." (Carole, The Romance Reviews - Five Stars)
From the Author
I still don't know where this book came from; it just came. Trish started throwing things and before I knew it, I had a book! I never intended for it to become the first in a series, but once it was out there, readers kept asking about Sheila, Steffen, and especially Dave, and I decided I'd have to take it that direction. I'm really glad I did. I love all of these characters and I'm so glad I've gotten to share them with everyone.

Clint and Trish don't belong in a BDSM relationship or any relationship. Apparently Clint isn't over what happened with his wife and for someone who is 50, Trish is very immature.
Trish is new to the BDSM lifestyle. Why she thought this was an adventure, I'll never know. She doesn't even know what a Dom or sub are. She even did research before embarking on her so called adventure.
Dave is a Dom. He meets Trish at a bar. She is drunk and lamenting about how boring she is and needs an adventure. Dave gives her his business card and suggests she contact him for an adventure. Let the fuckery commence.
Trish begins her sub training with David. The training is moving along and Trish is introduced to Steffan. David and Steffan are gentle with Trish. They take their time and explain things to her. Except David failed to mention how important and necessary a safe word is.
During her visits to Bliss, Trish has noticed Clint. When she attempts to get to know him, he blows her off.
There is an event held at Bliss where a Dom and sub are paired for a two-week period. Clint and Trish end up together. At Clint's house he lays down the law. One of his rules is if she is in bed with him and finds it necessary to use the bathroom she has to ask permission. What?? Now wait, it only gets better. Unknown to Trish, Clint sets up a situation with his buddy (a Dom) who manages a grocery store. Clint agrees to let the manager have sex with Trish in the back office in exchange for groceries. Trish is naive enough to allow this to happen. Clints excuse was he set it up to teach her a lesson in that trading a sub for drugs, food etc should never happen and she should have the self respect to not allow it to happen. This really bothered me. Clint could've stopped the situation before Trish and this other guy have sex and explain the lesson. No condom was used! OMG! I should've stopped reading at this point, but I was hoping the story would get better. One night Clint and Trish go to Bliss. Clint leaves Trish by the bathrooms while he goes to relieve himself. Along comes Steffan, who begins to talk to her. She is trying not to talk to him because she knows she will get in trouble. She is attached to a post and can't walk away. Out walks Clint who gets angry because she is talking to Steffan. Trish tries to explain herself but her word is not good enough for him, as he gives her lashings because he thought she was flirting with Steffan. Clint refused to listen to Trish or accept her explanation and wrongly punished her.
Another punishment he doled out was restrain and gag her, then left her alone in a room for 30 minutes without checking on her. During this time, she had a seizure. Clint was unaware of it until he went in 30 minutes later and found her barely conscious.
Trish has low self worth, very immature and giggles. What 50 year old giggles. Clint could care less about Trish's safety and well being. He should have his Dom card revoked.
A book that makes you cry and pull out B.O.B. is really something to hold onto. Trish in Deanndra Hall’s “Adventurous Me” is a middle aged woman whose husband just left her and she is going through a divorce. She goes out to a bar with a friend and once tipsy and looking for adventure to prove she isn’t boring like her soon ex-husband claims is handed the business card with the business name Bliss and an address. Dave, the man who gives her the card, offers her and her friend a night out at a club and an adventure.
Though her friend bails – Trish decides to go, trips and falls down the rabbit hole into a world she never knew existed. Corsets, collars, sex in public – what in the world had she walked into? Well, she had found her way to a local BDSM “dungeon” and her tour guide, Dave the man who gave her the card, offers to train her and guide her along the path to discovering that world.
Trish meets Cliff, a dominant who is scared of being involved all for his own reasons. They get paired together for two weeks for a trial run and while Trish holds up her end of the bargain, Cliff does everything in his power to make her go afraid to trust anyone – even himself.
Some of the things that submissives are taught in Bliss drive my hackles up a bit after a few years in the community. Trish is told to call any dominant Sir and if they are playing Master. Sex seems to always be involved in that dungeon with little negotiation Trish goes into scenes. Safe words and contracts are mentioned in the books which is good but like many submissive people in that world Trish refuses to “safe out” even when she most definitely should. Is that realistic? Unfortunately, yes. It would be nice to see in future novels someone actually using their safe word as needed. They are there for a reason – sometimes they really are needed.
The BDSM world is most definitely an adventure and I love that Deanndra’s characters truly grow in their self knowledge through the book as that is one of the things that living in that world definitely helps teach you.
All in all this is definitely a book I would recommend. This is an erotic romance novel based in the BDSM world. I love that the author clearly knows that world and portrays it well. Understanding the importance of the collar and the huge step that is taken by accepting it. The next book in this series

I recently discovered Deanndra Hall books and immediately fell on love. The stories are so interesting and compelling. The characters are strong, complex and so likeable.
