This one is easier to set up than my Kensington due to the scanning feature. Sounds great. The i2i and the Kensington use the same transmitter technology by Aerielle Technologies, Inc. The Kensington (not the LiquidFM) is one of the best FM transmitter that I have used, so far the i2i has been just as good.

I like the soft touch finish of the unit. It has a smooth matte soft feel but is not actually "soft". I don't have the RDS equipped radio in my car, so I don't know how well that feature works.

Didn't give it 5 stars for two reasons. It's not fully compatible with the 3rd generation ipod. (That is the one that used firewire to charge and sync) It will play through the unit fine, but does not charge the unit. The old Kensington unit will charge and play the 3rd gen. ipod. And the plug fits loosely in european cars like Volkswagens. For some reason the europeans use a slightly larger barrel for their lighter plugs and some plugs fit so loosely that they will fall/pop out. This applies to the i2i and the Kingston too.

Cosmetically similar to a transmitter for Sansa MP3 players from Maximo, this Aerielle unit outperforms the others I've used. Distortion levels are very good (lets say 'virtually non-existant'), and music sounds fantastic. A few weeks prior to purchasing this item I bought Grantwood Technologies transmitter for iPod and found it really lacking in sound quality, unnecessarily large AND it kept popping out of cars' power adapter - can you say "all aboard the FAILBOAT?" There is a nice feel to the pointy buttons on the i2i and they are spaced in such a way that you can find them by feel without having to look at them. The i2i also switches stations much faster than either of the other FM transmitters I've used.

The recharge time on my iPod Touch is within an hour for full charge, which is just right for my commute. The i2i has an auto-off feature that is annoying and completely fantastic all at once. When you use one of these units for long enough you WILL forget to unplug it, but the i2i shuts itself off after 3 minutes if you're not playing anything on your iPod so there is no worry about killing your car battery. I also like the size of the iPod adapter as it will be easy to handle with gloves come wintertime.

I can't say enough good things about this transmitter, it does exactly what it says it will do and won't break the bank like the offerings from Monster.

Positives: Sound Quality, fit and feel, size, engineering
Negative: Display tends to be hard to read

This product is easy to use, plugs in and works. The problem is my I Pod stops playing at least 3 times per song and I have to continuously press play to get it to play again. It acts as if I unplugged the transmitter. Not happy at all, I will throw it out the window as soon as I get a different one.

Not all FM transmitters are created alike. Having said that, no FM transmitter is going to give you perfect sound. They're all going to sound like your FM radio does and you're going to lose sound quality. That is the nature of FM radio. Just know that this is the BEST transmitter I have ever owned and I love it. It was the cheapest, but also the highest quality. Good choice!

This has the Arielle chip but does not work as well as my Kinsington that includes the same chip. The reception is not as good. The RDS feature is very neat if your radio supports it. Never look at your iPod to see what song is coming up again!

I used to sell FM transmitters at a large retail electronics store, so I am familiar with the troubles associated with FM transmitters. All FM transmitters are not created equal, they vary greatly in ease of use, sound quality, and strength of signal. This transmitter is easily the best I have ever used, the signal strength makes for a clear and high quality sound. It is easy to use and the presets are very useful. Only downside is that it will turn off if the Ipod is paused for a few seconds, but that is hardly a problem compared to other, more expensive FM transmitters. Highly Recommend!

I needed something that could get to my lighter jack without being in the way. I can't stand the radio so I needed something inexpensive and quickly. It works great and sounds good. I live in a city so it took a while to find an empty radio signal but since then have had no problems. It was originally just bought to be a back up and quick replacement, but I don't feel the need to get another now.

After using my Kensington for three years (loved it!), the wires became crimped and the performance steadily degraded. I went to replace it, and to my dismay, discovered the model was discontinued and I could only purchase a refurbished model. I resigned myself to finding a comparable model. The Aerielle i2i was it. It plays perfectly in multiple vehicles and works like a charm, I am very pleased. It has a slightly "muted" effect on the sound, but this is normal for FM transmitters; moving the iPod volume to 90% helped to mitigate this effect.
