Case in point: I have three 140mm Aerocool Shark fans in my current build; two positioned vertically at the front of my case, and another in a horizontal mount at the bottom (to blow cool air up to my graphics card). The two vertical fans have been running smoothly without any problems for over a year. However, within a year, I went through three horizontal fans in the same amount of time.
As it happens, my current horizontal fan has been making some noise again. I might go with another brand this time, instead of Aerocool.
Cons: This may only be me and the two sharks I got. Both of mine are slightly off when they spin. The blades aren't all true with each other making them look like a slightly bent bicycle wheel when they spin. If your not OCD like me or will no be able to see the fans this may not be a con for you.
