I am not sure what these other reviews are all about and why other people were having so many problems with this herb pods. I always like to read reviews before I buy any item on Amazon. The reviews for this item almost made me not purchase this item. Then I thought maybe most of these other buyers were just doing it all wrong. I followed the instructions word to word, and as you can see from the photos 2 weeks later all 6 plants are growing. I use nothing but distilled water, which I believe is the trick. You don’t have any to use tab water. There are 2 herbs that late bloomers, but they all seem to be doing okay. So morel of this review is, don’t always believe what other people say, because they just may not know what they are doing and it’s user error.

Indoor herb garden success… mostly

I love cooking with herbs and love that I can grow some great herbs indoors with my aero garden. This pack has a lot of my favorites including basil, mint, oregano, and thyme. There’s also parsley and something called savory though not really sure what it’s supposed to be and don’t think I will know because it’s not growing at all. That’s my only complaint about the set. As you can see the rest of the herbs are growing very nicely. The basil expands exponentially every day! And the mint is growing really well also.

Two of them didn’t grow

Of the six I purchased. Two literally rotted in the pod. And I’ve used these before so not sure what happened. I couldn’t return because my return window closed. But germination was two weeks and I was giving them time to sprout. All 6 planted the same day and fertilized. The pods must have been bad because they sort of molded over.

These pods sprouted super quickly (like within two days!) after I planted them and have grown into lush and flavourful basil plants that produce lots of leaves (I can harvest a decent amount every few days). If you're interested in growing lots of basil in your Aerogarden I recommend these pods - perfect for pesto! The plants aren't super tall but they've got quite a few leaves so I'm very pleased with them. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
