I love our hydroponics growing unit. We have had lettuce and now tomatoes. These grow HUGH, and we finally had buds coming on, it does take longer to grow, so be patient. We only had four of ours germinate out of the six we started.

Way TOO BIG For Indoor Planter!

I was excited about growing these in my 5 pod system. I planted 3 pods and left 2 unfilled for additional growth space. They grew fast and they are blooming. But they are already way out of bounds for the hydropod system. I took one pod out a couple weeks ago and put it in a planter to see if it would make it. So far it is still living. I am going to have to do the same with the other two because they are huge, like the tomatoe plants you grow in an outdoor garden. Yes they are blooming, yes I have a few green tomatoes on them, but NO definitely not good as an indoor planter just way too big. Its disappointing, but the weather is turning cold here and I have little choice than to repot them for outside. :-(

The kit is great for anyone who has a AeroGarden. Both the pods grew quickly and produced a tasty batch of tomatoes. I'm not sure if the plants will produce more than a single harvest of tomatoes, I've only had enough time to grow the single harvest. The kit includes covers for the empty holes you will have in your garden as you can only plant 2 of these per garden. That said, I would recommend only planting 1 per garden as the plant gets fairly large and will need a lot of space. I have a 6 pod garden and I find the spacing to be tight. Also with 2 plants growing at the same time, I found that the low water indicator is going off at least twice a week and looking at the leaves, the once a week feeding isn't enough to keep up with the 2 growing plants. For best results, plant 1 at time.

One thing I wish this kit included was an extra bottle of food. Finding the liquid plant food is the hardest part about keeping the AeroGarden plants alive. I've tried other liquid plant food and nothing seems to do the job.

This packaging, and even the picture on the back states that there are 9 pods. When you open the box there are only 2 pods. Read the description of the product and it states 2 pods. This incongruence in information is unacceptable. VERY disappointed as 2 pods for this price is outrageous.

So if you are scrolling over the pictures and see that it says 9 pods, just be assured that there are ONLY 2 pods, as per the description. Pretty pathetic indeed.

Pretty happy with my tomatoes. They are just the right texture. Outdoor homegrown cherry tomatoes still taste better than this garden but it's December and these beat the grocery store tomatoes by far! As the plants kicked into high gear, I added a touch more nutients between the two week feeding period as it seemed to need it. This picture is 91 days into growing and there are lots! I believe I saw my first tomatoes at 73 days of growing.

Missing pods...only got 3 pods ........ordered twice and same problem...on my box it actually says 9 seed pods and shows a picture of 9 seed pods....the second box no longer has the picture but just said 9 seed pods. I notice the description for ordering now says 2 seeded pods and 7 spacers. Expensive tomatoes...I still can't understand why some people got 2 seeded pods and I got 3. Anyway...I planted them and they are fine but I will buy my own seeds now.

As the name says "6-pod", I expected to get 6 pods... but it came with two. Re-reading the description I see that it only says you get 2 pre-seeded golden harvest cherry tomato pods. (The label "6-pod" probably refers to a six-pod machine? Not that that should matter though because it does say "Suitable for all AeroGardens") Not sure, but I was really disappointed to find out that I wasn't getting 6 like I thought I was. Also, the description does definitely say "2 pre-seeded golden harvest cherry tomato pod" but it came with one cherry tomato and one bell pepper. I thought that was too funny because I actually wanted pepper and tomato but was unable to find those two in a set so I settled by just ordering tomato. While some people might have been disappointed with getting the wrong plant, it actually worked out for me. They've been in the AeroGarden for about a week now and they have both started to grow. The product is good, a little overpriced in my opinion for just 2 pods, but I guess I should have paid closer attention. My only issue with this listing is the description/listing title.
