I ordered this seed kit to go into my AeroGarden to grow romaine for my bunny after the return of the ecoli in romaine issues. Yes, the bunny is a little bit spoiled. 5 of the 6 pods sprouted within 3 days. When the sixth never did sprout I wrote to the company per their guarantee and they sent a new pod right out. The romaine grew and in just short of a month I had a lovely little lettuce garden for my bunny. He approves

I had never heard of these varieties of lettuce before, but they are all good. They each have a slightly different flavor, kind of like a cross between iceberg and romaine. The 2 on the left didn't sprout. The sponges were out of the plastic holders in the box and I think the seeds may have fallen out. I received replacement pods 2 days ago and they've already started sprouting. I tend to kill plants, but my smart planter makes it practically foolproof. I'm 31 days in and have already harvested 4 times.

Great, but need help with pruning butterhead lettuce

I did not receive the romaine. I received two red leafs and one butterhead. They are all growing well and taste great. However, the butterhead is growing so fast that it now reaches the top and is touching the overhead light. I've been pruning it from the sides instead of the top (see photos). I would love to know if anyone has had success with the butterhead and what is the best pruning method to ensure it grows outwards and not upwards.

I did an initial review of this garden and it came with a starter "herb" kit. I wasnt really overly excited until 2 months into it. Herbs did grow but i cut them and used them and they tasted really good. I'm very happy with this system so i purchased a salad green mix of pods because we eat salads more than herbs alone for cooking. This shot is just day1. I plan to update this review once it starts to grow enough to eat.
In ottawa, our outdoor garden obviously yields nothing due to winter. This is a really fun system to truly yield fresh greens and it continues to grow nonstop. Does this really replace groceries ? NO of course not -- the value isnt there since you have to spend 25$ and hydro bills to grow them -- but if you are willing to accept that, then you will really enjoy this system.
These salad pods require 15.5 hours of on-time. that is a lot more than herbs so take note.

Just one week in, already seeing rapid growth. Updated picture. These greens grow faster than herbs.
4 weeks in, pic uploaded to show growth.
Updated pic for 6th week and prime time to eat . These are reallllly delicious and moist.

I purchased the AeroGarden four weeks ago and we've enjoyed two fresh salads so far. I only put in two pods in the back and four herbs in the front. This lettuce grows very fast. I wouldn't place more than two or three at the max because of the space it takes. The salads are delicious; hopefully we'll never have to purchase lettuce again. We look forward to growing the mixed lettuce next! If you have kids, they'll have fun, too, watching their veggies grow ... especially when it's blowing snow and -21 celcius. Enjoy!

It’s January 13,2022 and the product says to sell by November 2021. I’m not too concerned ( aerogarden will replace any pods that do not germinate after 21 days). I have set them up and I hope they grow! (Fingers crossed). I have had luck in the past growing the salad greens and basil so I’m sticking with those and not attending to grow other kinds of herbs or plants. This will be year 3 growing in the winter time.

Everything sprouted in 5 days. Ready to eat in 20 days. Very good lettuce. Still growing and will be ready for another salad soon. I have an Aerogarden Slim and right now at 22 days, they are not too big. Very easy to grow.

I like aerogarden. I actually growing aerogarden cherry tomato.
But for this Heirloom Salad I first tried 3 pods, but after 7 days nothing sprouted. So i added another pod after 2 days i saw something sprouting then i added another one also sprouted.
The first three it's been 13 days still no success.
The latest two are doing well.
Wondering what about the 100% germination promised? Can you replace the three pods not sprouting? I can not return all off them two is already growing.
