Product description
Popular with coffee enthusiasts worldwide, the patented AeroPress coffee makers are a different kind of coffee press that uses a rapid, total immersion brewing process to make smooth, delicious full flavored coffee without bitterness and with low acidity. Good-bye French press! The rapid brewing AeroPress avoids the bitterness and high acidity developed during the long steep time required by the French press. Plus, with the AeroPress paper Micro-filter, there will be no grit in your cup and clean up takes seconds (also unlike with a French press). An AeroPress makes 1 to 3 cups of American coffee per pressing in about a minute and of cold brew coffee per pressing in about two minutes and it can brew espresso style coffee for use in lattes, cappuccinos and other espresso based drinks. The cold brewing capability of an AeroPress means you can brew increasingly popular and ultra smooth cold brew coffee and it also means you can brew a delicious cup of coffee even when you have no access to hot water. The AeroPress Go is the new AeroPress that includes a mug with lid that you press into, drink out of, and then use as the AeroPress carrying case when traveling, camping, boating or otherwise on the go.

Using the experience gained with my other AeroPress, I replaced the 14g coffee scoop with a standard 2Tbsp coffee scoop and replaced the AeroPress Go filter case with a 2oz can for paper filters.
Scoop. Both AeroPresses come with 14g coffee scoops, however I prefer milder coffee so I use a standard 2 Tbsp coffee scoop (12g). Initially, I started with a 'Good Cook extendable coffee scoop' (https://www.amazon.com/Good-Cook-Extendable-Coffee-Tablespoon/dp/B002RBEJT8). Later, I replaced the Good Cook scoop with a more durable coffee scoop that I modified from a long handled stainless steel coffee scoop (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N4M44NJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I cut the handle off 4 1/8" from the tip of the scoop, and pop riveted the pieces back together using a 3/16" x 1/8" pop rivet. I'm very pleased with the results (see comparison photo).
Filter case. I discarded the AeroPress Go filter case and replaced it with a '2oz Screw Top Round Metal Tin Can' (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RTH35X7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) because it holds 120 paper filters, it is ultra light weight and it is waterproof (shown 'footprint' photo on right side).
I thought the AeroPress cup might be too hot to handle in some cases, but the cup was comfortable to hold even with boiling water (due to the ribbed sides). The smooth bottom would be a problem if set on fine furniture -- I found that the AeroPress Go rubber cap makes a great coaster when inverted.
I hope this review helps others.

The GO does have one small flaw… the new foldable stirrer (unlike the original t-shaped stirrer) is able to scrape the bottom and potentially rip the paper filters. Thankfully with a metal filter… you don't have to worry about that. If you brew inverted, this may not be an issue but I still love only having to worry about a single metal filter instead of having to count out how many paper filters I'm going to need for any given trip.
I’m surprised about the complaints of the GO being too small. I actually enjoy making espresso level shots that can then be watered down as desired into a good cup of coffee. The chamber on the GO is big enough to old 40 grams of coffee and at least 6 oz of water… the perfect amount for a great concentrate of coffee to make 2-3 cups depending on how strong you like it.
I’m a -2 strong cups - type of girl!
Like the idea of this set but the missing funnel can lead to a bit of a mess if not careful. The edge that rests on the cup for pressing is quite small compared with the original and will not fit some mugs the original will. The cup is a nice addition and will all fit together for easy travel, that is where the advantages stop everything else is just a bit compromised just a little for the sake of size.
Very small output unless you just want espresso. It’s a lot of work for a 1/2 a cup of coffee.
My only concern is if I get a majority of caffeine out with it’s “short” press. I fill my water to the top of the press and then add hot water after to get American coffee. Short press is claimed for less acidity and good flavor than a French press.
I’ve been looking for something reasonably priced to get the best flavor out of my coffee beans. I’ve been going back and forth almost 2 years weather to buy the original until this came out. I was a broke college student that time. This one looks better and is much more portable.
One of my favorite parts is the low maintenance in cleaning. After every use, the coffee puck slides right off depending on the bean (some stick) and you just rinse the parts quickly after. Compared to a regular coffee machine where it takes a lot more time to clean this is simple. I would wash everything with soap every 2 weeks or so. Doesn’t stain the equipment.
The equipment is plastic but is very good quality Made in the USA plastic which you can feel which I appreciate. Sturdy and durable.
You might end up on saving more coffee beans because you get more flavor with less bean compared to other methods. Experiment for yourself. I use the “inverted method”. YouTube it.
My only recommendation is for you have a temperature controlled kettle because I’ve learned that if you using boiling water or water that not hot enough, you will scorch the flavor of the beans or not get the full flavor. Yeah you can microwave water and pour or warm up water on a stove top but that’s just a hassle. I have a kettle but looking to get a temp controlled kettle in the future.
This travel set is terrific. We are on a road trip now and instead of the cumbersome bag we usually have our Aeropress in, we have this compact version.
Hooray. Would give it 6 stars if I could!
Love the collapsing stirring rod!
I packed my stainless steel filter as I am not a fan of the paper filters.

Compared to the original Aeropress, the Go is shorter, meaning you make slightly less coffee. However at least on my unit, comparing it to my OG Aeropress, the plunger is far superior in the Go. It fits better into the chamber, generates less leakage, and slides more smoothly. It’s not called out on the packaging as an element they changed, but it seems to have been tweaked for the Go, and in my view for the better.
The Go has some weight to it, but makes up for it in how neatly all the accessories pack away into the included mug. Drinking from the mug is not a bad experience either, while it’s a plastic mug at the end of the day, the ribs on the outside make it nice to hold, and after a few washes on the road in hotels it still looks good as new.
If you pack this and a mini grinder or vacuum can of fresh ground coffee, you’ll have a nice consistent road setup and can evade terrible hotel coffee which plagues us all. Yes you can travel with v60 too and save even more weight, but chances are you aren’t packing a gooseneck kettle on short haul, and the Go makes consistently tasty, full bodied, EASY coffee that doesn’t require a lot of hotel space or extra items to pack.
One con: The filter holder can be finicky to keep closed. I travel with a metal filter, so it was neither here nor there for me.
If you do not already own an Aeropress, this is the one to get. If you are already an Aeropress user, unless you travel very often, I'm not sure it's worth the rather expensive £32.
The faults some people had said about rough edge on the cup have not been present on mine.. It was very well packaged and arrived promptly dispite the situation the world and the UK is in.
I have been using Costa coffee and I have to be honest... It is better than the actual coffee from Costa in the services which makes me wonder why.
Everything neatly packs away and is very easy to use and unlike other systems very very easy to clean.
I found the mug very nice to use and the coffee unit fits perfectly fine over my usual mug I use at home so no need to use the plastic one unless at work.
The papers filter on one video says you can use it multiple times so far I have used mine twice and I will update this review with a more precise figure at another time.
My only regret was leaving it so long before purchasing one.
