This case is small enough to fit on any overhead bin and under the seat. Anything larger than this case can be difficult to place under the seat of 737, 757, A320, A321...The cooler does not have skid plates or wheels on the bottom. Therefore, it can not be dragged around. If it is dragged, serious damage will occur to the lower stitches.
This bag is not made for severe use. This cooler should last in an air crew environment if it is not pulled across floors and rough pavements. Since the bag is not reinforced for extreme handling, it is strong enough and light for air travel. I carry it on top of my roller bag. It has a sowed strap that can placed on to the roller bag handle. There is a provision to attach to a J hook of the roller bag too. That option will unbalance a roller bag. The strap that attaches to the roller bag should be extended to allow the cooler bag to rest on the floor. Again, transporting this cooler bag in this fashion will wear down the bottom of the cooler bag because it does not have a drag plate on the bottom. Many of my fellow pilots complain about how quickly the bottom of the cooler bag tears...That is the reason I carry it on top of my roller bag.
My mission was to combine my flight bag with a small cooler for cold & room temperature snacks and a couple sandwiches. Necessities from my flight bag included; company issued iPad EFB, personal iPad, Bose Proflight headset, sunglasses, sunshade, license/medical/etc. docs, pens, mints, hand sanitizer & disinfecting wipes. Good news, I was able to make it all fit, BUT it is not pretty. My biggest complaint is that the bag is not deep enough, therefore I cannot fit the Bose Proflight headset case in the top flip-up area above the cooler. The only place I could make it fit is along the back. Because of this, I am unable to slide the cooler over my rollerbag handle and must use the J-hook making my setup semi-unstable.
Capacity wise, the cooler works for my needs for a 3 or 4 day trip, supplementing what I purchase on the road. I do not think it would be big enough to carry every meal for a 4 day trip.
