I bought this book for my daughter because I grew up with these stories and I wanted my daughter to read them too. She loves the simple stories with a moral at the end. She often relates the morals to her own life and things she does. She will ask for many of the stories by name and will even tell us the stories in her abbreviated form. I'm really glad I bought this book for her.

I purchased this book for my 3 1/2 year old daughter and was very disappointed with the poorly written stories. The fables are almost unrecognizable as the author(s) tries to stretch each one out ad nauseum. The writing is shallow and boring; the few pictures contained in the book are unattractive. Also, the fables seem to have been modernized; for example, the "Boy who cried wolf" is said to have had "too little drama in his life" which caused him to play tricks on others by falsley calling for help. I am sorry I purchased this book and it has been relegated to the Goodwill box in the closet.

I bought this book to read to my son, 4-1/2 years old. The author stretches Aesop's fables out considerably, here, with much additional detail and description of flowers, animals, etc. Too much stretching, in my opinion, at least for my son's patience. The illustrations are okay, but they are limited and fairly small due to the large amount of text devoted to each fable. Each fable is about three to five full pages of text. I haven't compared this with other versions of Aesop's fables but, if I had it to do over again, I would try another version. My son likes this book but often gets bored in the middle of a fable and wants to skip ahead.

Bought this a a birthday gift for the little one. She loves it! We read a story every night before she goes to bed. Lovely illustrations too. Not too complicated for your toddler or younger ones.

There are no morals stated at the end of the story! They're great stories and I like how they're worded (not too wordy for my taste), but what is an Aesop's Fable without, "And the moral of the story is..."!? Fail.

I enjoyed these stories as a kid and now my children are enjoying them as well. My memory isnt as good as it could be but these seem a little less, I guess you could call it graphic. Which is a bonus for me.

Our girls are both under 2 years old, but both of them love the lively illustrations this book has. The stories are timeless and well told and will likely remain favorites for them for years.

This is a great book that is of excellent quality. Very much recommended!
