I know there are tons more stories out there for Aesop's Fables other than the popular ones featured on this one, and I wish they'd make a whole collection of those, too, I would buy them for sure!
Also, as everyone knows, most children's stories were originally spun out of dark gloomy stories or myths that were aimed for adults rather than children from old times (such as Andersen stories or Greek Myth or what not). So even if I try to find a good Andersen story book for children, it does have some gruesome bits (like Hensel Gretel putting witch in the stove or what not...). I never really paid much attention to that when I read them when I was a kid actually, but now that I'm a parent, I'm wondering if it would bother my child or she'd just completely ignore that aspect like I did as a child.
But unlike those tales, Aesop's Fables are all nice stories, there are outwitted fox and rabbits for being too arrogant or playing tricks too much or what not, but not a gruesome ending for the real villain.
This is a great book that is of excellent quality. Very much recommended!
