Some scientists wanted to make people immune to death and disease. Some corporate execs wanted a slave
population. Turns out, each side got something they wanted--just not in a way that either could control. How
suspiciously like real life these things turn out to be.
Afflicted: Patient Zero is the Die Hard series for the undead. A zombie who has to look at his name card to
remember that his name is Trent (he seems to heal from any injury, but where does the weird smell come
from?) has to fight his way out of a business setting filled with fast zombies that want to eat the living.
Trent was a damn good soldier before he was bitten, and the knowledge bleeds through after his bite as well.
He has memories of his life, he just isn't too sure of them. Did his true love try to eat him? Did he kill
her to put her down? What about these other guys around him who look like normal folk but smell
as bad as he does? And what is the deal with all these crazy zombies that are attacking from
all sides. Finally, who made this whole thing a real world situation where ammo is limited? Unfair.
If you like zombie horror, you should give this book a chance.
First time reading a book from the author.
The story pulls me in right away. I use to play the “Resident Evil” game or watch the movie’s. This book brought those memory’s back. Even had “Z Nation” pop in my head as well.
I liked the story and the characters. It had a steady pace to keep me moving along as the story unfolds. The quirky description of some things was a very nice add. I smiled on a couple of them.
The book seems to have it all, the action, the gore, the mystery, and the spots to make you almost scream run or yell shot them. I will be looking and wanting to read more from the author.
Thank you for letting me read your story.
