As Zombie stories this book offers a interesting premise. But, the grammar errors took away too much space and took the reader a lot to stay and read, needs an excellent editing and fast.
The story itself needs work. Not only the characters that are half develop, but the story itself is incomplete. The continue use of cliches, repetition of parts.
The author tried and fail to gently moved the characters into the story but is choppy and sloppy. Forced a character into a scene when the character and the story are so weak is terrible.
An ARC's readers could spot the character and story weaks, also the typos too.
I'm very honest with my Reviews, not only for me, the author or other readers, how an author know when did something good or need improvement?
How another reader believe in my review? If I didn't read the book, I don't Review. If the book is good, Review. If the book isn't good, Review.
I support Indie authors, they make an interesting twist on writing. The Publishers Houses had to be following more of them because they're are writing incredible stories.
With that we all benefit, readers, authors & readers searching for something new or special. My opinions are my own.
Some scientists wanted to make people immune to death and disease. Some corporate execs wanted a slave
population. Turns out, each side got something they wanted--just not in a way that either could control. How
suspiciously like real life these things turn out to be.
Afflicted: Patient Zero is the Die Hard series for the undead. A zombie who has to look at his name card to
remember that his name is Trent (he seems to heal from any injury, but where does the weird smell come
from?) has to fight his way out of a business setting filled with fast zombies that want to eat the living.
Trent was a damn good soldier before he was bitten, and the knowledge bleeds through after his bite as well.
He has memories of his life, he just isn't too sure of them. Did his true love try to eat him? Did he kill
her to put her down? What about these other guys around him who look like normal folk but smell
as bad as he does? And what is the deal with all these crazy zombies that are attacking from
all sides. Finally, who made this whole thing a real world situation where ammo is limited? Unfair.
If you like zombie horror, you should give this book a chance.
Mike is a military veteran who is infected but hasn't turned yet. This is an excellent viewpoint. He's still more human than undead.
"Again, standing with my Glock gripped tight in my palm, I wonder what the hell is going on here. Not but a couple of hours ago, I was running for my life with Ray and feeling like a happy meal to go."
Mike met a bushy-haired man. "I'm still leery of anyone I meet, but I'll take my chances right now with someone who doesn't act like they want to use me as a chew toy."
I received a complimentary copy in an Amazon promotion. That did not change my opinion for this review.
