Sofia Mikellson is in a bad spot in life. Forced to make a deal with Cameron Ashton in order to save herself, she doesn't realize until later that the unknown man with the dangerous reputation is far worse than the criminal she was dealing with. Forced to give herself to Ashton for two weeks, she doesn't know what being owned by the devil really means until now.
This was a quick read that hit the spot. I was intrigued with Cameron right away as he had an almost animalistic need for her. You could tell there was something about Sofia that drew him to her. I loved that Snow nailed the tension between them! It was so well done. You could feel their chemistry coming off the pages. I look forward to reading more from her in the future! 4 stars!
Sofia gets herself into a sticky situation after an unfortunate break in at her apartment. But after making a deal that makes her sick to her stomach, an unexpected turn of events leads her to Cameron Ashton door. Although he is more dangerous than the man she made a deal with, there's something about Cameron she trusts.
What Cameron demands in payment for his help is her body in every way he desires for a specific amount of time. After that, she is free to go and live her life just as she wished free from the danger currently surrounding her.
But after spending time with Cameron, will Sofia be able to walk away from the intensity she's come to crave or will she beg Cameron to keep her and her body for his pleasure?
Affliction captured me from the start with it's gritty hands and never let me go. Sofia is a strong individual that has been going through some hard time, and with one to lean on she gets herself into a rather dangerous situation. But I love how she preservers and looks for a way out, and when she finds it she goes after it with everything she's got. Sure she changes one bad man for another, but the second she can tell is a bit more... respectable, the lesser of two evils. Cameron may be surrounded by darkness but there's something about him that calls to Sofia. The danger runs deep, but the thrill of it intrigues her.
And the passion that exist between the two is killer. It's hot and steamy and everything dirty. The wicked things Cameron says will have panties melting and women wanting to submit to his every naughty desire.
So if you are looking for something a little darker and very naughty, then Affliction is what you need. You'll still get your HEA just in an unconventional way. So have not fear, Cameron will take very good care of you and all your needs.
Affliction is a little on the darker side. Although some may not like Cameron's character, I liked him instantly and appreciated his upfront honesty. He was a bad man. He killed and took what he wanted. Yet with Sofia he was sometimes more gentle and showed her a side of himself no one else ever got to see. He also allowed Sofia to be herself and realize they weren't so different after all.
It had some predictable moments but was still very entertaining in a "leave me alone I'm reading" kind of way...steamy, erotic and dirty. I loved it.
**** 4 **** "I'm not a good man" stars
Affliction is so torturous, so amazing. I felt Cameron's demons, his struggle to keep his lifestyle from the object of his obsession. But her level of apathy, her brokenness, allowed Cameron to shatter her, open her up to the dark, sensual pleasure he would drown her in.
Such an incredible read. Jenika Snow shows again, why she is always a must read for me. Her successful forays into the descent of darkness continue to delight this reader. I eagerly look forward to everything she has coming out.
