I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys the horror/zombie genre, and to anyone that loves a great love story. 5 Stars. I will definitely be reading Mr. Knuth's other books.
In my view, it did show the ineffectiveness of the governmental response in the early part of the book but then that's a common theme in most genre of books anyway, isn't it? :).
I did enjoy it and I think you will too.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys zombie fiction. It`s a surprisingly quick read and really enjoyable.
So, why the 4 star review? I feel that this book was very aptly named "After Life." Not only do you have the dead that inevitably become the undead, but you also have an exploration of what happens to the survivors after life as they know it is completely obliterated. The author, I feel, did a good job of showing the progression of human emotion--or lack thereof--following a life-altering, world changing event. It's a story line that I don't see too often in the blood-and-gore world of typical zombie novels, and I could really appreciate the different approach.
Overall, I recommend this book. To me, the physical and emotional action work well together.

It was a pretty formulaic zombie novel. It never really sucked me in though. But it also didn't send me running. The love story felt bland to me. Read morePublished on July 20, 2014 by Dinnerandamurder

I am into all things Zombie and/or apocalypse. This book is different than any I have ever read. It was a tale of unrequited love at the end of the world. Read morePublished on October 16, 2013 by harry fuller
