Needs a more robust philosphic platform and there are works that have it.

The best work I have read for a Christian on this topic is Robert Geis, "In My Ever After: Immortality and its Critics." The author is a Priest of the Eastern Church, but with an intellect that is unsurpassed. His work is a slow and difficult read, but he has proven to me there is an after-life. And more to the point, that Christian doctrine on the afterlife is not some religious fervor flim-flam, but what reason and evidence show to be the truth of the matter. His knowledge of neurobiology, how the brain works, how the senses work, and how they are evidence for a mind that survives death is overhelming. Even a review in the philosophy journal from Catholic University, The Review of Metaphysics, goes so far as to state the same thing about this work. I cannot recommend the book highly enough. Brown's work is a grain of sand in comparison to Father Geis'. Finally a Christian who takes on secularism and shows it for the shallowne is is.
