Much Ado About Lu by Amelia J. Mathews is a mid-20th century novella that takes place after WWII set in the 1950's & portrays the saga of Lucinda Lu Denvers a drama teacher at Asheville College & Max Fisher who abandoned his career as a Hollywood screenwriter to teach college instead. I love this author's writing style as it gives you those good vibes & is utterly refreshing. A sensual & comical historical romance with arcane secrets & a bit of twists that will have you on tenterhooks. The antecedent is highly intriguing & the beginning draws you in & keeps you captivated until the end. Characters are well seasoned, complex & portrayed the era perfectly. Characters give you a feel that they leap off of the pages & come alive. Another exceptional read from an author that I love her books.
The Infatuation Equation by Heather Young-Nichols is a modern day new adult contemporary romance novella that is a super adorable, sugary sweet, boisterous read with equal parts of tantalizing & lustful scenes & witty banter between the character's. "She is dating her professor & she doesn't even know it." Daisy Anderson is a student at Asheville College & smokin hot Reid Miller is a college professor at Asheville College. A romantic spin on a taboo student/teacher romance with a bit of a twist. I love the cameo appearance by Max & Lu which brought it back full circle in time. Daisy & Reid are loveable, unforgettable, & a perfect pair. A well blended mix of supporting character's that accentuate the saga. I love this author's writing style also as her books always give you that feel good vibes & characters are created in a way that you wish you were friends with them. Again, the antecedent intrigued me & right from the beginning I was hooked till the end. A fabulous set of romantic escape reads that you will cherish & reread. I volunteerily reviewed an advanced reading copy this two set novellas.
I loved The Infatuation Equation by Heather Young-Nichols. This is a sweet, modern day romance between Daisy and Reid. I loved their flirty behavior and the humor, both in their relationship and with her family. I was nice to see an appearance by Max and Lu from the first story and see they were still very much happy in in love.
These two authors put together two great stories in one book that is perfect to curl up with and take a literary romantic escape.
