I use them with my laptop station at work, and it's great to be able to hear my dept heads yell out for me and still have headphones on,
I get to listen to my videos and cartoons playback clearly and still hear my surroundings as advertised.
Sound quality is as good as any headphones really, but you do have to tweak your audio output in order to maximize the low end of the spectrum.
I recommend using the sound out from your device on high, and the volume on the headset on low, that way it doesn't have to amplify the incoming low end wave.
The sound quality is pretty good, considering music isn't travelling through the ears. These do not provide fine detail and staging like my other listening devices; Klipsch, Senheiser, Sony, Tate & Buaer to name a few. if you are looking for headphones that will transport you to another place and time, look elsewhere; that being said if you want to enjoy your music and still be in the present and "tuned in" ; give the Aftershocks a listen.
AfterShokz should try to make an over-the-head version of this. We don't all want something appropriate for jogging.
Unfortunately, the plug does not fit my land line hand set. But it works beautifully on my cell. I no longer miss half the conversation. Same when plugged into my computer (and no one else in the apartment has to hear my overly loud speakers!).
My quibbles are two. (1) the volume control block is much too close to the headset and I can see the adjustment controls with the headset on and (2) the charging plug is too close to the input wire, making attaching the charging cord.
Oh, yeah, works very nicely on my iPod too.

Unfortunately, due to them not being adjustable and not wanting to keep my finger pressed to the side of my face, they are not suitable for my head - either it's the wrong shaped head or it's too small, or the technology isn't yet far enough advanced to penetrate the bone without the added pressure from my finger. These little headphones are inexpensive for such advanced technology though and so perhaps as with everything they are great for some folk, but not suitable for others who may have hearing loss due to blockages.
They are very lightweight and easy to wear, come in a nice little pouch to keep them safe in a bag, and don't take long to charge. They probably sound as good as the earbuds supplied with pocket radios, etc., so one shouldn't be over critical of the tinny sound which makes classical music quite unlistenable whilst on the go. I don't use earbuds, so found the sound quality below par for an enjoyable audio experience. I would say for joggers/cyclists and walkers who listen to other types of music and have good hearing generally, these may well be a 5 star product, particularly with the ability to take a phone call and stop the music with one click (I only tested them with a Pure Dab radio so can't comment on the mic function). Also the ability to still hear traffic and other surrounding sounds would make these very useful for some people.
For me though, I get a better experience with an inexpensive and technologically-inferior gadget: a dual channel equalizer which fits onto any headphone with the standard 3.5mm audio jack. As long as the sound can be sufficiently cranked up on the music device to blast through a nearly deaf ear, the equalizer just lowers the sound on the non-deaf ear to match the deaf one. It is a bulky gadget though for out and about and has an extremely long wire, so I was disappointed that these Aftershokz Sports headphones didn't work for me.
I'd definitely consider purchasing from Aftershokz again when the technology is a bit further advanced for a better, less-tinny, sound experience, acknowledging that they would come at a higher price. Also an adjustable headband for smaller heads would be an improvement on the design.
It is with regret that I am returning these headphones. I won't be investing today and if anyone calls me:
No ifs buts or quibbling they sent me a new pair which arrived within a week of my email. You can’t fault the customer service.
If you buy these things for the right reasons you will love them.
Tuning out the world - nope not designed for that.
Perfect audio quality - nope you won’t get that either.
Running or biking when you want sounds and to be aware of your surroundings- can’t fault them.
Stick a set of earplugs in and they are really comfortable on an aeroplane and work really well :-)
Overall I am glad I bought them and glad I got them form Aftershokz
Can got cheaper ones, and can get more expensive bluetooth only ones. These are good compromise - battery Pack similar size to small Apple Remote, just an aware it'll need somewhere to be Stowed near your music player / phone.
