3.5/5
I have tried a couple of alternative controllers and of them all, I prefer this controller. It places the left stick where it should be, it also has this sort of lip on the bottom that your middle fingers rest against for a better hold. And despite what others have said, I have had no response issues with the sticks. Quite the contrary I prefer their feel over the Sony controller.
The only downsides are that the controller is not wireless and is not "Sixaxis" but lets face it... That is a dead end that few games employ.
The build quality is much higher quality than I expected. All my buttons work great.
The LED's are really bright, maybe even a little too bright for playing in a dark room. The cord is really long.
The one problem I have had is that the black rubber on one side keeps coming loose, but I can just push it back into place.
So, yes. It's not the best made stick ever, but it works (at least for me).

- The analogues/buttons are pretty loose (Even on a new control).
- The analogues are placed too close together causing thumb clashing.
Plus, I mean come on Sony you've had 15+ years to come up with a control that caters adult gamers and people with naturally big hands and your still using the same old school design?! And that's when a fellow gamer introduced me to the PDP Afterglow Wired Controller which has Analogue sticks placed in a much better position (Like a 360 controller) than a standard PS3 pad. It was a bonus to have the blue light effect when plugged in but to be honest it was abit too bright for my liking. When playing anytime of the day the bright blue light from the control is pretty much there in your face whether you try to ignore it or not BUT because I am mature and a quick thinker I thought that the creators of this little gadget would also think this and so must have a switch or button to turn the light off which IT DID have on the back of it.
Overall it's a pretty damn good controller for the price I paid. This is a must buy for adults who play the PS3 ,people who suffer with thumb clashing from the original PS controller analogues and lets not forget the gamers who prefer the Xbox 360 style analogue placement (or want to play the PS but dont want to feel like they are cheating on their 360 ;) )
