This book has all kinds of recipes from muffins and scones to breakfast casseroles. The muffins? Wow, a number of variations on much-loved flavors like pumpkin (with cranberries--good idea!) to savory muffins flavored with bacon and a Southwestern twist. The scones are equally inventive but appealing. Many good flavors, with glazes or homemade lemon curd or a fast "clotted cream" to go with. For these recipes alone, I'd recommend this book.

I like to entertain with breakfast casseroles for brunch, but here, I was less impressed. A lot of the recipes rely on prepared ingredients such as mushroom soup and biscuit mix or canned biscuit dough. Unfortunately, these ingredients over the last number of years have gotten so synthetic and mediocre, I hesitate to use them anymore. (A friend remarked after one recipe using biscuit mix "You know, anything with this mix becomes just...averaged out." I think that's the problem. Something in commercially prepared baking mixes, crusts and soups just doesn't cut it anymore.)

Having said that, it's still possible to use the ideas for the casseroles with adjustments if you object to canned soups. For the biscuit mix, sometimes I substitute a gluten free biscuit mix that is surprisingly tasty and gets around the "I don't eat wheat" trend happening, all in one swoop. The bottom line is, if you like what's in these recipes, you're good to go. For me, I simply edit them (turkey sausage I make myself for commercial breakfast sausage, for example. It's ground turkey dark meat with a seasoning mix for sausage. Lower fat and couldn't be easier. And I mentioned the gluten-free biscuit mix.)

One recipe is really great however; that's the "sweet and savory breakfast casserole." It has apples, cheese and bacon.

I made the mistake of clicking on some of the sweet muffin recipies before I had lunch. Omygosh, every single one of them made me want to get up from my desk and dash to the kitchen to cook. Definitely gonna do that for breakfast in the morning. I especially like the useful tips the author puts before each section --I didn't know that trick of freezing the butter and grating it to make it easier to blend with the flour, and I've been cooking for um..lots & lots of years. Highly recommend this book if you are looking for quick, easy and especially yummy breakfast foods.

First, collecting recipes is one of my favorite hobbies. The Title caught my eye. The description had recipes that sounded good. I read all the recipes and low and behold most ingredients are already in my pantry and refrigerator. The directions are easy to follow. Best of all we will be eating fresh, nothing complicated, and dare I say "healthy" meals. Thank you Sara Winlet for sharing your heart in these recipes. Thank you Kindle for making this book available to us Kindle-novices.

I love muffins, scones and other types of breakfast foods. I recently started baking my own muffins and have been experimenting with various recipes and baking methods. This book contains some superb recipes, many of which I hadn't seen before and look forward to trying. The author did a great job organizing the book and the recipes and instructions are displayed in a manner that will enable me to refer to my Kindle reader while I am actually in the process of preparing the ingredients, etc. Very well done and highly recommended!

This cookbook will have you salivating just from browsing through the many choices. The recipes are easy, delicious and many can be made from leftovers. Did I mention that the recipes are quick also? You'll be eager to cook at home rather than settle for the store-bought pretenders. Thanks Sara. Wow and Yum!

The Scones, Muffins, Casseroles, and Quiche recipes in here are wonderful! This book I found has everything I was searching for and more. My favorite one in the cookbook is the the Very Cherry Scones for afternoon tea and was so impressed with the taste of this. It is in between a biscuit and a thick cookie, yet not too sweet as I substituted Stevia for the sugar and it baked well doing this.
Then I tried the Mushroom and Spinach Quiche. This is what I did: I used Portabella Mushrooms for my mushrooms. But I used 1 1/2 pounds of these and 1/2 pound of sausage to cut down on the meat. Results? Superb dish and very healthy one as well I found. One more thing, I cut up in small pieces 1/3 cup of spinach and cut it up small like I was cutting up say Sweet Basil and threw this into the mixture and what a wonderful taste!

Also, I liked the muffins and breakfast casseroles. For me, I plan to use these recipes for BREAKFAST, LUNCH, TEA, and even for DINNER!

The reason that I purchased this cookbook is because it gave recipes in different types: Casseroles, Quiches, Muffins and Scones and it even has recipes for spreads and toppings. Before I purchased this cookbook, I looked at the handy Table of Contents and found the every one of the recipes I believe I will like and also purchased it because of the variety of dishes this book has.

Highly recommend this to all!
