Has great controls for changing songs, volume and google voice!
Here's the thing: PEOPLE. DON'T. GET IT. Some of my friends get the purpose of these headphones (to have background music but still be able to hear what's going on around you) and love them. In fact some of these friends of gone out and bought some after hearing mine. But what other people don't get is that THESE ARE NOT MADE TO DROWNED OUT ALL OTHER SOUND. Some of my other friends wear it and are like, "I don't like it, I can still hear too much sound around me......." even though I literally just explained that that is their purpose -_- The whole point of these is to be able to HEAR what's going on around you. It can be dangerous to ride a bike with headphones in. You may not hear a car or person or something that you should.
So... If you are looking for amazing sound and DON'T want to hear what's going on around you, then obviously DON'T BUY THESE HEADPHONES. If you are looking for headphones that don't cover up your ears, allowing you to hear traffic, people, etc, then these are what you are looking for. They are the best for that. It gives you background music. And when you want, you can crank up the volume and pretty much drowned out other sounds anyway.
I commute by bicycle and ride for fun as well, and I have always wanted headphones that allows me to listen to music without plugging my ears and being able to hear everything around me as well.
These are not the highest of sound qualities, but i doubt it will get better than this. they sound great for listening to podcasts and light music while at work, without making my boss uncomfortable as if i am deaf to the rest of the workplace. when i ride my bicycle, it is just loud enough to listen to music decently while riding, not too loud, but you have to pay attention to traffic anyway.
the sound quality is ok for music, it gets worse at the top end of the volume level, it feels like something is vibrating on your head at the loudest volumes, and other people can start to hear it as well. but thats ok when you are excersizing or out on the street since everything is loud outside.
i used to use those small over the ear headphones before, but this fills the gap better, i can listen for hours at works, ride and exersise with confidence that i can safely hear the outside world, and no wires to top it off.
They fit a bit weird so I guess the only thing I would recommend for a new model is to make it bendable where it goes around your ears (I have a thin face, so my cheekbones aren't the correct "shape")
But, other than that these are pretty sweet, I've been using them on my hat cuz then it doesn't mess up my hair and basically turns my hat into a head speaker lol. Definitely worth checking out! Also if you work nights these are perfect lol.
I have been scrolling through the reviews and noticed a lot of flack about the quality of them (physically). Naturally made me a bit worried, but I have actually fallen asleep with them on quite a few times, and honestly that's the biggest test of durability right there lol. Point is, they are fine, still work fine, still look fine...etc. Granted it hasn't even been a week but so far I have no complaints.
Now I use them when she has long phone conversations in the same room. They worked well. There was no latency to the sound. It took a little while to get accustomed to the vibrations. The behind the head style is not the best design when sitting in a recliner or lying on a couch. The pads get pushed too far forward when you rest your head. I tried turning them around and wearing them under my chin with the pads still resting in front of my ears. They worked just as well even though they weren't designed to be used that way. I expect they will work well with my laptop or smartphone once I get around to trying it.
I bought a TaoTronics Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 Transmitter to connect them with the television. No doubt there are other transmitters that also work just as well.
