Chrissy Martin is a world travelling doctor who has comeback to bail her cage fighting older brother, Slade, out of jail. She runs into her former crush and Slade's best friend Jack Daniels in the most unexpected of circumstances and our story takes off from there.
Jack Daniels is a part-time cage fighter, cop who is truely intoxicating.
Like the second story in the series, this book also has a heroine who has had an abusive relationship and a hero who heals her soul while fulfiling all her fantasies.
I must say that my favorite character is the little devil dog, chihuahua, Drogo. That dog is a force to be reckoned with. He really adds humor to the story.
"Against the Cage" is a little less hot than "Full Contact" but is still a great book and an awesome start to an amazing series. Sidney Halston is definately a writer that I'll be closely following from now on.
This was a fun read for me, and I really wasn't expecting that. I was expecting the fighters, but was pleasantly delighted by all the laughter. And the laughter started very quickly. Chrissy isn't having the best day...she went to bail her brother out of jail, broke a heel leaving the courthouse, gets a flat tire and then gets pulled over when she's minutes from her childhood home. She just can't catch a break. She hasn't been back to town in 11 years, so this is quite a "WELCOME" back. Oh, and the policeman who pulls her over...her brother's life long best friend, Jack...who happens to be smokin' HOT!!! She accidentally hits him while handing over paperwork, and I almost dropped my kindle due to laughter. The reunion isn't as cheery as I would have thought, but it was perfect for the story.
Chrissy is a doctor and cringes at the mere thought of violence, much less fighting, and that's precisely what brought her back to town. Her brother, Slade, was arrested for fighting. He's actually a fighter for a living - MMA and the occasional fight in the underground circuit. Jack is also an MMA fighter in addition to his law enforcement position.
This book had it all for me - LIKABLE characters who have lived real life and are a little older than the norm in the romance world, real issues that need to be worked through by both the H and h in order for them to get anywhere near an HEA, kids who grew up together and fall in love as adults, fighters and a man in uniform. The only thing missing was military. LOL!
There were a few things that I would have liked to have seen expanded upon, but when the issues between brother and sister come to light and they reconcile...it was so much more that I expected. As a reader, I appreciate it more that I know how to say.
I strongly recommend this book. I enjoyed it so very much.
This is a "brother's best friend" romance and I truly enjoyed reading it. It was entertaining with plenty of humor, testosterone, friendship and romance. Oh, and keep a cloth close by so you can wipe the steam off your E reader screen. Got a love those sexy MMA fighters. When these guys fall, they fall hard! This is the first book in the Worth the Fight series and I can't wait to read more.

The opinion expressed is my own.
Chrissy has to go back to her home town and bail out her big brother from jail. Instead of thanking her he brushes it off like it's no big deal. Guess getting hit in the head too many times has made the boy brain damaged. He was lucky she had the money to bail out his butt out of jail. This get interesting when Slades' best friend Jack enters the picture. He and Chrissy don't start on the best of terms (you have to read to believe it).
This story had me hooked from the first page to the last. Can't wait for the next story. Hope that Slade meets a woman that can knock him on his butt.
