This is a "brother's best friend" romance and I truly enjoyed reading it. It was entertaining with plenty of humor, testosterone, friendship and romance. Oh, and keep a cloth close by so you can wipe the steam off your E reader screen. Got a love those sexy MMA fighters. When these guys fall, they fall hard! This is the first book in the Worth the Fight series and I can't wait to read more.

After a long absence Chrissy, now a doctor, returns home to her small town in Florida to bail her brother, a professional fighter, out of jail for an alleged assault. On her way back, she runs into her brother's best friend, Jack, who is now a police officer who does mixed martial arts fights for fun. Jack has been Chrissy's brother's best friend since childhood and Chrissy always had a crush on Jack. While Jack frequently protected Chrissy like a little sister when they were growing up, he never showed any other interest. The headstrong, sexy all grown-up Chrissy who returns is a very different woman from the easily swayed, nerdy girl that left all those years ago, and the sparks fly as Chrissy and Jack work together to find a way to help Chrissy's brother beat the charges against him.
If you loved Beautiful Disaster, you will love Against the Cage!!! Both stories use the underground fight world as a setting. Additionally, you get all the hot sexiness and quick wit banter of Beautiful Disaster, along with a strong alpha male with an insatiable need to protect those he loves, without all the extreme reckless and destructive behavior.

3.5 Sexy, Fighting Stars!
I really enjoyed this read. It was light and fun with a small bit of angst and with characters who have history stemming from a childhood friendship. I enjoyed the playfulness of the scenes and the wonderful story within this well written novel. I had some issues with a few parts, which I’ll go into detail about in my Wish List section, but for the most part, I found this to be a great start to a series I know will be fun and exciting.
Chrissy Martin, aka Chris, comes back to town after being gone for eleven years, to bail her brother out of jail. Getting back to her hometown wasn’t without its problems and mishaps, including getting pulled over by the police for speeding. After she rolls her window down to talk to the officer, one thing leads to another and before she knows it, she’s apologizing, squirming and then she’s raging mad.
Officer Jack Daniels, yes, thats really his name, stops a speeder on his way home from a long shift but unknowingly walks into a situation that has him hugging the ground as soon as the chatty, nervous woman inside starts an animated dig-around for her ID.
To say their introduction was funny is an understatement. I loved the way these characters come together in their first scenes. And what's better is, they realize quickly who the other one is. And they have history.
Chrissy and Jack grew up together and Jack is Chrissy’s brothers best friend.Read more ›

Overall a fun read. The pacing seemed a little off. Several side-shoots to the story felt like weird after thoughts. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Jenny

Very fast simple read. Started out great (Chrissy punching the cop that pulls her over in the youknow and it turns out Jack - her brothers best friend) but soon lost its pace. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Bookgyrl
