Product Description
Damnaged Aggression Therapy
This, for lack of a better word, rules. Cathartic drum and bass intensity play off anthemic rock melodies, with hard guitar leads (think Slash, Brian May, that sort of thing) and the classic, catchy rebellion of punk lyrics. The growling vocals carry a certain sex appeal, and the sinister guitar riffs (especially on songs like "Wicked Throne" and "MindChanger") just plain rock. This band is young too, which allows the younger generation to relate better to the intense emotions expressed. They're made up of two sixteen year olds and a seventeen year old. They alos experiment with a wide variety of styles (best seen through "Pure," "Life of Pain" and "Wicked Throne"). They're not just kids out there to make as much noise as possible - they actually have something new to say about rock music. Check it out.

From the Artist
"Every song on this CD is about real people and real things that happened to me and people I know. Yeah, I get angry, and this music gets aggressive. At the same time I'm just trying to keep it real so that when another kid or even someone older listens to it they can say "I feel that way too sometimes, man."
Nick Woodward, Damnaged Lead Singer, Lead Guitar
About the Artist
With the energy and passion that only teenage boys possess, DAMNAGED presents their very own form of Aggression Therapy on their Very Juicy Records debut release of the same name. Though still in high school, childhood friends, Trevor Fox, Chris Johnson and Nick Woodward are already living the ultimate rock and roll teen fantasy. Their music combines anthem rock melodies, cathartic drum and bass intensity, hard metal guitar leads and the rebellion of hardcore punk lyrics.
Aggression Therapy features a raucous set of nine songs, all written by lead singer and guitarist Woodward with major arrangement contribution by Woodward's partners-in-crime, drummer Johnson and bassist Fox. Guided in the studio by producer and VJR label president Maurice Jones Jr., DAMNAGED has forged a sound that pays tribute to musical influences such as Megadeth, Pantera, early Bon Jovi, Tool and Ozzy, but is propelled by a force that is uniquely its own. "There is something about Nick's vocal style and guitar pyrotechnics and the band's ferocious attack of each song that defines a sound that the band has coined as 'Aggression Therapy,'" says Jones.
Throughout the CD, Woodward's anthemic lyrics demonstrate a keen perception of the frustration and confusion that besiege his teen-aged contemporaries. From the opening track, "Hide Behind Your Cross," which introduces the lead singer's growling vocals and highlights his hard-hitting guitar chops, through the relentless rhythms and burning guitars of the furies "Laid to Waste," and "Life of Pain," to the sinister and hypnotic "Mind Changer," the trio functions as a tight unit that seems to have played together far longer than three short years. "Mind Changer" in particular reflects Woodward's response to his grandmother's losing battle with Alzheimer disease. Aggression Therapy's stand out track, the powerful rock ballad "Pure," takes the CD's uncompromising intensity to the level of tight dynamics typical of bands playing together for more years than these young DAMNAGED members could ever have been aware of rock music. "Wicked Throne" closes the set out with high-throttle, new-metal muscle showcasing the power and raw energy of Johnson's monster drumming. Woodward, says he lives for the ultimate guitar solo. "When I'm on stage, I'm open and crazy. Each time I perform, I get more and more into the music, so I'm always curious to see what'll happen the next time I hit the stage."
Sixteen-year-old drummer Johnson has been playing drums since the tender age of ten, and has been inspired by the likes of Alex Van Halen, and - of course - Jon Bonham. Lately he is obsessed with Tool. "When I'm on stage, it's this surge of energy, excitement and raw power that I feed off of.
Trevor Fox plays bass - a B.C. Rich Warlock. He says working with producer Maurice Jones, also a bassist has helped him hone his chops and cites Jason Newsted, Cliff Burton, and Nikki Sixx as his influences.
The newest member of the group rhythm guitarist, Jeff Roderick came in through the back door as the teen intern to help run sound.. Within a short time it was obvious he needed to move from behind the console to the front line of the Damnaged stage. Jeff's musical influence include hard-core and metal. "I have always been into low tunings and music with a lot of power.
Through a network of teen metal heads, snow and skate board hard rock and punk followers the band continues to build an incredible army of the underground faithful.
