Why Use a Sweeper?
Many people are unaware of the benefits of a lawn sweeper. Most use a rake to clear away leaves, grass clippings, debris, even pine cones. That's hard work. It's also time consuming. With a lawn sweeper, the job becomes much easier on you and your lawn. It also works smoothly with its durable brushes, so your grass never gets damaged while cleaning your lawn.
Sweepers also have certain advantages over a bagger. The sweeper holds almost twice as much as a bagger so you don''t have to empty the contents as often. You can also empty the sweeper bag without ever getting off the tractor.
Replaces Back-Breaking Rakes. Cleans up everything just like a rake - without the hard work. With the Agri-Fab 44 inch Sweeper you never have to get off the tractor. Even dumping is done from your tractor seat.
Proudly designed and assembled in Sullivan, IL
- Agri-Fab is a registered trademark of Agri-Fab Inc.
Their tough, durable brushes
Clean away grass clippings, leaves even pine cones.
Extra-Large Flow Through Bag
Holds 2 to 3 times more than a 2-bin bagger so you don't have to load and unload as often.
Patented Off-Set Hitch
Allows you to sweep and mow at the same time.
Easy to adjust to the center or the side.
Brush Height Adjustment
Easy to adjust brushes to correct sweeping height will not slip in operation.
The 44 inch sweeper collapses for easy storage.
Easily, quickly adjusts to the height of the tractor hitch.
Only two nuts and bolts require tools to assemble sweeper with clevis pins used elsewhere.
Small Storage Footprint
Sweeper tongue and bag support fold up without using tools for storage.
Want more versatility, just add the Agri-Fab de-thatcher to the front of the sweeper and you can de-thatch while you sweep. The de-thatcher clears away dead organic matter that was compacted during the winter and it works great for kicking pine straw up to allow sweeper brushes to collect it for disposal or composting.

Order from Midwest Products - The cheaper prices listed for this lawn sweeper had extended shipping dates and when I want something, I want it now. I bought this Monday evening and UPS was at my house on Wednesday at noon and I did not pay for express shipping.
Assembly - I only drank 1 beer while the 14 year old put it together.
Operation - We put the wheels on level 3 for our yard and my 2 ac's looks like a golf course now vice a hay bailing operation in progress. You just need to play with the height adjustment and speed to get your desired results.
Quality - this a big unit and the wheels are over sized from what you might think from the photo's. It's a heavy duty sturdy piece of equipment and very well built. My neighbors who have gone through a couple of lawn sweepers had the same reaction as if I bought a bigger boat than them. A lot of Ooohh's and Aaaahhh's.
Storage - the hitch can fold next to the unit and the bag can be taken off so you'll only need 1/2 of the space to store it.
Bonus - my wife took over mowing and using the sweeper. She would only let me sit on the back porch, drink beer, and watch her mow while the football games were on. I slightly teared up during this evolution.
I had a piece from Ohio, that lost a wheel within the first 5 minutes of usage and went straight back to the big box store where I bought it. My neighbor had a Craftsman and was somewhat happy with it, so I went and bought the same. It was ok, it had a bunch of quirks but it was ok. After 3 season it gave out on me. My main problems was the hopper and all the nuts and bolts that needed continuous replacement. Why I mention this? This sweeper took all the problems I had with me old one and fixed it. Bolts are replaced with pins with safety pins, the hopper is huge.
So here my first impressions which I will update over time.
Let me start with the good:
-looks and feels sturdy
-the hopper is HUGE, easily 50% more then the craftsman I had.
-the one hand emptying feature is great (be careful NOT to overload)++++++see update+++++
-the settings for brush height are great and finally a sweeper that keeps the setting
-the solution how to "un"-center the sweeper is a Masterpiece
-Amazons delivery time. Ordered on Tuesday about 9pm, delivered on Wednesday at 1pm
no one can beat that :-)
-3 years warranty! Unheard off!
-the bigger parts are just thrown into the box
-the instructions are a freaking nightmare (please read my remarks )
-the upper rod broke, even while being careful. But as you can see, Agri Fab replaces them and are aware of this
-the clover pins, I have NO idea how, but the come off.....and get lost....
The unholy booklet/instructions
Basically everything up to the hopper assembly......geeze people......do NOT follow the instructions on the pictures.
Some of the structure must be threaded THROUGH the hopper bag. Means the side pieces. If ypu assemble everything as shown.
you will be doing it again.
Aside of that, assembly time was about 30 minutes, was pretty easy, NO tools needed! Just the hopper assy was a mess because I had to redo it because of the bad instructions.
I am impressed, the brushes pick up everything, small branches, bigger branches, leaves, empty cans and even a beer bottle :-) old and dry grass. the hopper is huge, don't overload or you will need to get off and empty the hopper by hand.
For now, I would advise anyone that is in the market for a sweeper to go for this one, it is by far the best I tried.
I will update this at the end of the season or if i face problems.
If you have questions, need pictures or more insight, please feel free to ask. As with all of my buys ex Amazon I stand to my word and answer every question I can.
I am not that impressed anymore. The main rod on top of the hopper first bend then broke (this happened to a lot of people, if you read the other reviewers you will see that. Several of the pins that came with the sweeper went lost. I contacted Agri Fab, but so far I am ignored. I will try further to get them to reply and send me the missing pieces and a replacement for the bend and broken parts, but I am not impressed anymore.
I will keep this review up to date and supply new if they happen.
Update, 2nd season, beginning
After I tried to contact Agri Fab in November and never received a call back, I honestly forgot.
Last week, I pulled out the tool, and started a new try with Agri Fab, and I got a reply. We are sorting things out.
I will let you all know how that went once we are set.
I am very impressed with this sweeper thus far. My mother-in-law has an Ohio Steel and I much prefer this.
The hopper is sturdier than I expected. It's light weight and has an open top. This hopper does not drag on the ground as does the Ohio Steel hopper (mom's hopper fabric has to be replaced every 2 yrs or so because the bottom gets torn up). Even fully loaded it didn't sage or drag.
This hopper is very easy to empty, with no shoulder strain at all. I have short arms so I have to stretch to reach the handle, but I can reach it. Lift the handle up and pull toward you, the grab the knob. Easy Peary. Even fully loaded with quite a bit of dead leaves I had no problems. The Ohio Steel model comes with nothing. My husband fashioned a rope for me to pull on - talk about shoulder strain! Not to mention rope burns and a sore back! The AgriFab is very easy to empty. My only problem was when I backed up to the burn pile. I managed to know out a pin at the front elbow joint - which is odd because it has a cotter pin. I must have snagged it on a tree limb when I was dumping and pulled the pin. I can't find the bar that went through the two pieces or the pin so I grabbed a pin from the garage and made do with that.
Because this hopper doesn't drag, I found that I didn't leave a trail of leaves when hitting mole runs or bumps. Another pleasant surprise. I was able to sweep two acres in an afternoon. It's early in the season and trees haven't begun to truly dump yet, but I doubt I will have any problems.
I highly recommend this product to anyone who needs an excellent sweeper. It's less expensive than Ohio Steel and, better priced.
I've used it about a week now, and the frame bent and snapped at the elbow joint on the side. I'm going to contact Amazon and see if I can get a replacement part. Will update again after I get that straightened out.
