"Inspired by great modern thriller writers like Grisham and Clancy, the author assembles an amazing action-packed narrative here that moves at the perfect pace throughout. Telling its tale in a disjointed chronological order, the audience learns everything necessary at the right time to keep the intrigue high and the story moving brilliantly along. For many readers, this book will prove to be one of the hardest to put down in some time." - The US Review of Books (Reviewed by Michael Radon)

While there are Americans involved, the majority of the characters are from the Middle East and there is plenty of customs and languages used throughout the story that add depth. The characters have interesting backgrounds about their developments and the events that shaped them during the different timeframes. The pace is fast and smoothly transitions the years and events to keep the reader immersed in the pages. Plenty of time is given to set the foundation that meshes the storylines and shapes the characters into a novel that keeps the reader constantly striving to figure what happens next. There is nothing Hollywood about this book. This is a very substantial read that could have been written by any of the heavy weights like Ludlum and Follett and company. This caliber of Indie author is hard to find in this genre nowadays.
Happily, I read the paperback version. This 309 paged, oversized book was comfortable to hold and didn't have any fumes. The serif typeface was a size too small for me to read comfortably, but with normal eyesight it is perfect. I'm used to a Kindle with narrow pages and large font to enable me to read faster. I have the other two books of this series, in paperback, and look forward to reading more about the female character that played such a strong role in this novel. I contacted the author to review her books. 5*
This is the type of read that is perfect for any kind of thriller fans out there who love a story that has a strong militaristic & political conspiracy theme, with a fast-paced vivid writing style to match that expresses each scene in an immersive and captivating manner. What I admire most about this read is that it is genuinely hard to predict as each chapter transitions into the next. This is far from the kind of read that has a protagonist that goes through each obstacle in an almost superman-like manner. There’s some genuinely dire and complex plot twists thrown in that often had me truly questioning how on earth Petra was going to be able to through them, this translates to the book having a kind of vibe that will leave many readers on the edge of their seats and ultimately make it hard to put the book down – as was the case with me.
In summary, I think this is a great start to the series because it has set up a very strong foundation with plenty of options and possibilities of what is next to come – I look forward to seeing how the author plans to keep the momentum up with the next addition. Highly recommended.

It belongs to a very small and select group of books that I gave up on.
