Top Customer Reviews
I've opened it up and found inside four unlabeled 18650 cells connected in parallel with room for a fifth. I assume that each cell is 2500 mAh so they add up to the advertised 10,000 mAh. I plan to perform a load test on this power bank to verify this in the near future.
I noticed that the powerbank's battery indicator light goes down slowly from 4 dots to 2 dots while using it, but as soon as it hits 2 dots, it began to run out in minutes. This could be a defect in the battery and I hope to exchange this for a unit with the correct capacity.
Update: the seller kindly sent me a replacement, which performed slightly better than the previous one. The customer service was quite good, so I'm giving this a better rating.
Based on this experience, I estimate its capacity to be more like 3000 mAh or 4000 mAh.
Another thing I noticed when I shined a bright flashlight through the plastic case, I can see that the right half of the case is practically empty. The left half of the case contains the battery. This is also evident by the weight and center-of-balance. It is heavy on the left side. I've included a picture of the power bank with a flash light shining behind it so you can see that one half of it appears to be empty.
Since contacting Aibocn customer service, I was given the opportunity to try a replacement of this power bank. The replacement performed better than the original unit. I am able to charge my iPhone 3 or 4 times with it. It is likely that the original power bank was defective. I would have preferred not having to deal with the hassles of getting a replacement. I just wanted it to work right out of the box.
So it's almost been two months and they've asked me to re-update my review since I forgot to and this one works better. It charges to its full capacity and is capable of recharging my iPhone 6 from 20% - 90% with one of the 4 light indicators.
Keep in mind that you should definitely use the micro-USB they gave you to charge the battery pack with because I think I might have short-circuited the other charger they sent me. I could be wrong with that hypothesis but better safe than sorry.
So for about a month, it worked really well. As a college student, I used it about 3-4 times a week to charge about 60% of an iPhone 6 battery on average per session cause I'd stay on campus all day and had no outlets around.
Then, just last week 4/30, after charging the battery fully, I used it and realized that it was only at two lights worth of energy. I didn't think much of it until today. I charged it again, and it wouldn't charge past two lights worth of energy (approx. 5000mAh). The first two lights weren't malfunctioning or anything either since while it was charging, all the lights lit up sequentially as they normally do during charging.
I don't toss it around and I haven't dropped it either as I take good care of my electronics.
Really bummed that my particular one didn't work.
The flash light functionality is nice but haven't really used it.
This Power bank is light and fits nicely in your hand or pocket. It can charge 2 items at one time and comes with an emergency flash light. It takes as long to fully charge it, as a phone or a tablet, but when you need to use it you hook it up and get an immediate charge that continues until you are full.
This Power Bank has been used all day and still had charge on it. My dad has had this now for almost 6 months and doesn't know how he survived without it.
Updating: I just took some pictures of it to add to this post. Again this is almost 6 months now and it works great.
