AUTHENTIC - This book is very dear to me because I am first generation Puerto Rican to the United States and therefore missed out on the authenticity of Puerto Rican food. This book teaches me what to look for to achieve authentic Puerto Rican food.

HEALTH CONSCIOUS - This book puts a healthy twist on Puerto Rican food that is unmeasurable! Though it explains traditional frying methods, it offers a healthy twist to achieve the same taste with less calories. Awesome! I can eat more Puerto Rican food now!!!

A BASE FOR LEARNING - Many Puerto Ricans have varying ways of preparing Puerto Rican food. I have used this book as base and keep a separate note card for how my parents, granparents, and aunts did things differently. I had no base to work from before getting this book.
