This movie is a wonderful addition to our family viewing library. It is an absolutely clean, safe, and totally enjoyable movie for the entire family, even the youngest members. My grandchildren and my husband and I have had a blast watching it together and the kids ask to see it over and over again. I highly recommend this as a fine family movie!

Air Bud is about a 12 year old boy named Josh (Kevin Zegers) and his family just moved to a new town. Josh is very lonely. Josh loves playing basketball. Josh meets a stray Golden Retriever named Buddy. Buddy who had escaped from his abusive owner, an unsuccessful professional clown named Norman F. Snively (Michael Jeter). Josh meets Buddy at a basketball court. Josh starts playing basketball with Buddy. Josh sneaks Buddy into the house. Josh's mom, Jackie (Wendy Makkena) does not want Buddy in the house. Josh tries out for the basketball game but he becomes the water boy. Jackie lets Buddy stay outside. On Christmas Josh gets Buddy as a Christmas present. On day at the basketball court Josh discovers that Buddy can play basketball. Buddy joins the game. This movie is one of my favorite childhood movies. Air Bud came out when I was 7 years old. If you have not seen this movie you should. Enjoy!

Anyone who is an animal lover should see this movie. And anyone who is not an animal lover has got to love Buddy the dog. Because he is one of the most beautiful dogs I've ever seen. The movie also has great values and it is a fine christian movie. Anyone who does not agree with me that Buddy is adorable should get there head examined. I love goldens! especially Buddy and this movie is awesome!

This dog is immortal, lives within our hearts, mine for example. I grew up watching it back in the late 90's and have loved it ever since. Product was in perfect condition, great service. Also if you see a 1 & 2 deal, buy it because the second is great too, funnier with a lot of heart- who knew dogs could play more sport, let alone one? Just as good as I remember. All the great movies are heard of, referred to and never seen by some people which is a shame and this one would be an example of that. Don't miss out it because is all the worthwhile. buy it because it's a great movie!

Loved this movie as a kid and I had worn out a VHS copy I had in my childhood. Was glad to find it on DVD to add to my collection and rewatch every once in a while for entertainment and old times sake.

fun family movie. parents and kids (8,9,6) really enjoyed it and the kids were laughing out loud. our sensitive six year old did cry a couple of times when she thought something bad was going to happen to the dog, but otherwise, it was really enjoyable for everyone.

It is the quest of any connoisseur and lover of film to find the perfect movie, the holy grail, the light at the end of that maddeningly long tunnel. That film is Air Bud. I'd say a film like this comes along once in a decade, but that would be severely understating the sublimity of what has been captured here. This is not even the film of a lifetime, this is a film that will live on through the ages, passed down to children, and used by aliens to capsulate the only good to ever come out of human kind. What we have here is a story as old as time itself: a boy, his dog, his dog's ability to play basketball. The trials we all face when our basketball playing dog gets taken away by a clown. The triumph of winning our dog back in a custody battle paid for by taxpayers. Like all great films, Air Bud asks more questions than it gives answers. Why are all clowns horrible? Why can't my stupid dumb dog play basketball? How stupid would the coach guy have looked if they had lost the final game? It's these questions that can haunt a man, make him leave his wife and four children to go on a spirit quest in the deserts of Nevada with an Indian guide. But it is also these questions that invigorate life, let us know we don't know everything, and that maybe we shouldn't. Maybe we should just watch a dog snout a basketball through a hoop.

A film as nuanced as this is greatly aided by the audio commentary: so much I missed is touched upon by Buddy and his puppies, I feel I truly understand the full scope of Charles Martin Smith's vision. I applaud their ability to resurrect Buddy, now fifteen years dead, to drag his carrion carcass in front of a microphone to provide insight from beyond the grave.
