We have been using this humidifier for over 2 weeks now. It replaces a very old Craftman System that we have used for about 40 years to humidify over 3000 sq. ft. It easily maintains an overall humidity of over 35% even during very cold spells and this is done at the lowest fan speed. We have to refill the water jugs every 24 to 36 hours. The reviews on the Amazon site are very mixed with some being very negative and those negative reviews almost stopped my purchase. Thus I would like to add our experience which is not at all reflected in these very negative reviews - specifically:
- if you run the fan at a low or lowest speed the system is very quiet. The noise level probably compares to that of the refrigerator when it cuts on - so this product can be managed at a low noise level
- assembly is a piece of cake and the instructions are really good - installing the casters requires some strength
- the two water jugs have plastic screw caps containing a water valve. I can see that if an individual is careless it might be able to cross threat the caps but if you take your time and screw them on the jugs carefully there is no problem. Good to turn the caps slowing anti-clockwise a couple of turns before screwing them on. No need to tighten them on.
- I would say that the quality of the product is very similar to the product it replaced which served us for 40 years!

I have had this type ofhumidifier for many years. This is the fourth unit I have purchased. For years they were terrific. I was very disappointed with this unit. It came with the top unpainted (see Photo). The tanks and caps have very poor threads, easy to cross thread. No matter what I do, it will not draw water from the left tank. I am certain that the unit is level so that can't be the problem. The controls are cheap and useless. A good product gone very bad. Three emails to Essickair and no response.
