From the Manufacturer
- Float arms designed using vehicle specific geometry to ensure accurate fuel gauge readings for each and every application
- Triple barb hose fitting for positive seal and a secure hose connection
- Float arms detached and securely taped to reservoir housing during shipment
- Award-winning protective air cell packaging secures the pump more effectively
The check valve upgrade provides optimal flow while reducing pump noise, and the additional pump insulator also improves noise dampening. The isotropic super-finishing provides lower amperage draw and quieter operation.
Fuel Pump Module Assembly
Upgraded convoluted tubing improves durability to resist tube wear failure. Superior, heavy gauge wire reduces risk of electrical failure. The upgraded inlet/outlet polymers improve performance and reduce potential cracking. Modified return porting increases flow resulting in lower failure rates. Gradient density dual zone filtration fuel strainers are designed for better contamination resistance.
Increases Life and Enhances Performance
Dual zone filtration improves filtration for longer pump life, and the precision wound armatures reduce parasitic load for increased performance, with an optimized armature speed for long life. The ceramic sender card ensures accurate fuel gauge reading and long-lasting performance. Precisely mated commutator and brush materials provide durable, consistent performance and extended life in various fuel formulations. The improved pump to flange harness provides reliable electrical performance, and Airtex's dual inlet design features superior performance and amperage draw in heavy demand conditions.

fuel pump with fuel level sensor to hard to past up. I felt that since I had to remove the old pump to replace the sensor it only made sence to replace the fuel pump. I think since replacing the fuel pump assembly I gained better gas mileage.
Just barely two years into it (April 2012) - it's dead again. The thought of spending another $230, spending a whole day dropping the tank again and putting another one of these in really chaps me. There is nothing wrong with the fuel pump side, but the gas gauge part doesn't work. I'm blown away that they can't make a dependable gas gauge! Gas gauges have only been around for 100 years or so and the "brilliant" engineer that came up with this design should be promoted to a toll booth collector. So very disappointed and unfortunately, I am left with no choice but to either live with no gas gauge or buy another one of these. Ridiculous. Next time, I'll skip GM and buy a dependable Japanese or German car -- At the very least, I'll know how much gas is in my tank.
it does not come with the strainer. Product description shows fuel pump module
assembly, which should come with the strainer. No listing for the correct strainer part
Will see how good this one is after I install it.
It should be supplied with the strainer..
Addendum: Spoke to Suuperb Autoparts and they sent me a replacement under the warranty. Installed it again in 4 hours. Three weeks later the pump failed. This time took it to local repair shop. They are putting a GMC replacement in for $600 parts/labor plus towing. They said they wouldn't ever touch an Airtex product. Now I know why. Credit to Suuperb for honoring warranty.
