A powerful controller for any performer, Akai Professional's AMX controls two decks of Serato DJ Pro with an intuitive array of faders, touch-activated knobs, and buttons.
Featuring a curve-adjustable mini innoFADER crossfader, dedicated line faders, and control signal inputs, AMX can interface Serato DJ with turntables using Serato Noise Map (DVS) or HID players over a single USB cable.
Built-in headphone and master outputs integrate into any booth or tabletop setup, bringing the trusted Akai Professional hardware experience to stages and studios all over the world. AMX comes with the full version, letting you take advantage of precise, powerful audio manipulation in real-time.
Already have Serato DJ Pro? AMX unlocks it, providing both a control surface and audio interface to build around or have as an extra controller option.
AMX features two sets of audio inputs, selectable as Line or Phono, to accept signals from Serato time-code vinyl, also known as Serato Noise Map. This Digital Vinyl System (DVS) lets you DJ with your digital music collection, while maintaining the feel and action of a turntable vinyl setup.
AMX is a rock-solid, affordable interface that fuses the best of analog feel with the best of digital music access.
By themselves, the EQ and Filter knobs on AMX are tactile, responsive controls for shaping tracks and carving out transitions. These knobs also incorporate a dramatic “twist”: knobs that react to the human touch. In Touch mode, each knob responds to a twist, a touch, or a combination of both.
Note: Serato DVS Expansion Pack and timecode vinyl are sold separately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the full version of Serato DJ Pro included with the Akai Professional AMX?
Yes. The full version of Serato DJ Pro is included in the Akai Professional AMX purchase price.
Does this mean that DJs now have a Serato DVS solution for under $349?
Yes. With the Akai Professional AMX being introduced at $249, and the Serato DVS expansion pack priced at $99, DJs can get into using Serato DVS with their existing CD players and turntables.
When I connect my vinyl turntables to my phono/line inputs, I keep getting a low signal sound regardless how much I adjust my gain. What should I do?
It is recommended that users connect the AMX to the USB port closest to their power supply. This USB port will draw the most power to their AMX controller. Since the AMX controller doesn't have a power supply, it only draws power from the USB port.

Couple things to note... If you plan to use decks you will need to purchase Serato DVS for $100 to interface with the cd's or tables. Serato is currently offering the Suite package for $300, get it, you will not be disappointed. Also be sure to buy BOTH AMX and AFX units. They do work well as stand alone units but in tandem they are glorious.
Also, there are no auxiliary ins and outs. 2 RCA deck ins, 1 RCA master out... that's it. I recommend chaining the mixer to a Master Mixer for improved Master volume out. I used my old Rane TTM 57 which allows me to add more channels as well.
Lastly the AMX and AFX are TINY and light weight. Currently there is no hard case available. Both units side by side measure 10.5" across so a 10" mixer case might work. You will also need to raise the AMX and AFX up to reach the height of your decks. The units only stand about 1" tall. I plan on custom building a weighted case for the pair.
A few things not mentioned in the specs and info I have read thus far-
The EQ's do cut frequencies out completely. Just like the beloved Rane with all EQ's turned completely down there is no sound.
The AMX does have a single on board FX nob for each channel. Also loading tracks is simple and easy with the library browse and load nob. I always went to the laptop rather than trying to figure out how to load tracks with the Rane TTM 57. I don't even have to touch the laptop now as everything is laid out nice and simple.
I have only just broken the ice with 2 days of use and my mixes and fun at the tables have improved by leaps and bounds. I can't wait to dive deeper into all the function and fun of these awesome new toys.
Akai has done a fantastic job with this mixer and FX controller. Being their first breech into the DJ mixer realm I cannot wait to see what they do next. My wish list, Make it bigger, 10" wide standard height and weight, combine the two units, and add more/ better ins and outs, XLR masters would be nice, 4 channels, mic input, aux ins/outs etc.
