"Alabama Smith in the Quest of Fate" is built on an adventure game framework and stars the young archaeologist and his girlfriend, Anastasia. You will do a great deal of exploring both in Alabama's university office and at Machu Picchu where your adventure takes you and you will be poking your nose into every available nook and cranny, solving puzzles, managing the large inventory you'll collect, bombing back and forth in time with the use of a magic artifact, the Amulet of Time. And hovering over the game is a shadowy nemesis who wants to lay his hand on the Crystals of Fortune before you do.

The game really is a hybrid between Adventure and Hidden Object and it is nicely balanced so you don't get too much of either The hidden objects are really hidden and sometimes blend so well with the background they are very hard to find. You will be hunting for the elusive Crystals of Fortune. But before you can be on your way to Machu Picchu you have to find 12 golden Incan statues. You'll be prying open crates, climbing walls, looking in wastebaskets, cabinets, poking in plants, creating cleaning solutions and much more.

The tasks you need to perform, artifacts you need to find and areas you need to visit all appear on the bar at the bottom of your screen. There are ample hints and you aren't penalized for using the hint mechanism often. The mini-games are quite hard but are varied and interesting, However, you can skip any that you like.

The art work is very good indeed and overall this is a fun, challenging game and by no means a pushover. It is quite a good enough challenge to appeal to serious players, but the more relaxed and perhaps not as astute casual players (like me) will like it too, as the hint mechanism will bail them out when necessary!

I found this game to be a little boring. There was nothing to do, but look for objects, and complete mini games between levels. I found the mini games boring or too difficult. The story was not very interesting and didn't really seem to play a big part in the gameplay. Overall, I was not very satisfied with this purchase. I didn't even finish the game. I uninstalled it and downloaded a different game.

I wanted to like it allot ,but as the game went on, and you had to visit about two hundred different places and then know when to use the amulet to travel in time as well......I found it too confusing and some of the puzzles are too difficult to figure out without help from a walk-through.
I had to use one several times or spend hours or day trying to figure out where to go next and what to do. The game is very long and yes you can skip the puzzles but why bother to buy it if you can't do the work and learn.
It would have made it worth while had the puzzles been difficult yes, and so here we'll show you how to solve this TYPE of mini-game but just skipping things makes you angry and frustrated.

No kids can do this game so don't waste your money on them or......... give them at the walk-through, but using that makes no one happy I would think.

Could have been a good game and lots of fun but even the hidden objects are hard to find in the dark and parts of other things and I've never ever had a problem with any of those games before so I suggest it's bad development and not bad people. I've played at least 20 of these and beat them all and this one borders on unfair.....OR....OR...... of course you can quite your school or job and just spend months solving this. hahahahhahah

These guys don't realize we want something to rest and entertain and have fun and not all kinds of pressure to solve the most difficult problems. We get to deal with the most difficult problems in life already everyday...why would I pay for more of them????
If someone made a game that was all about how to solve mini-games I would buy it in a second, but alas people are too busy copying everyone else to think of this I guess.
