The phone plays music & talking MP3s. Phone also has a standard 1/8in headphone jack. It also plays videos & movies in the .3gp format. Even has a built-in FM radio. Phone includes a built-in speaker phone. During a call press the key below the word "Speaker" to turn it on. To turn it off press the key below the words "Spkr. off", Lots of neat features on this phone!
THIS IS A 3G PHONE. (NOTE: THERE IS NO WI-FI).
Calls & regular texting works fine. This phone also sends & receives photos. I have checked this on a 3G connection & it works well. Several users have commented that they are unable to send or receive photos. It appears to be a problem with their phone.. If you are having a problem, try using the mobile web feature of the phone. If it works, it shows that data is enabled on the phone. Data must be enabled to send or receive photos using mms messaging.
Package comes with everything, phone, battery, SIM CARD, ac wall charger, instruction booklet, Red Activation Card, and a bonus code booklet for 120 & 200 minute cards. When activated the phone will have 10 minutes & 60 days to allow for testing. (ALWAYS TEST YOUR PHONE BEFORE ADDING AN AIRTIME CARD). You will need to buy an airtime card to add minutes. Phone will double minutes and you can use the included bonus codes or find others on the web to add free bonus minutes when you add an airtime card.
To activate your new phone, call the Tracfone Activation Number listed on the Red Activation Card, using a different telephone & use the phone robot to activate your new phone. This should take about 6-10 minutes. If you are porting your old number to the new phone, you will have to talk to customer service or use their website. This will take longer, maybe 10 min. to a day or two. Note: If you are porting your number from another Tracfone...the transfer will be lightning fast if you use the website.
Need to give someone your phone #...hit the center compass key and it pops up. Menu system is easy to use...Kids, Seniors or Anyone in between will find this phone easy to use...When charging the phone, a small blue LED lamp comes on to show it's charging & goes out when fully charged...Want to take a photo?...flip open the phone & push the camera button on the side of the phone...Is that easy or what? Want to put those photos you just took on your p.c.?...get a USB bluetooth adapter for your p.c. (cost about $10) and you are set. Just bluetooth them over to the ole p.c. I use it all the time.
I'm sold on flip phones...they are simply the best compromise of all the phones out there. No locked keypads to mess with. No more pocket dialing. Flip phones allow for more privacy when making or answering calls & work much better in noisy environments.
It's a Tracfone...so you can roll over service days & minutes. Tracfone is still the cheapest phone you can keep. (Less than $7.00 a month with minimum usage.)
The Dollar Tree Store has small flip phone cloth cases for one buck & they really protect your phone! There may be one of these stores in your local shopping area.
The Alcatel 392G is a feature packed phone...I like flip phones & unlike most folks I'm not overly awed by smart phones.
Tracfone has a good tutorial for this phone. Do a google search and a link for this should come up. The tutorial page also has a link to download a detailed PDF manual for this phone.
Cell phones are amazing! They are the Swiss Army Knives of the 21st century.
This is a GSM phone and uses the AT&T network. Phone is available in Tracfone, & Straight Talk flavors...you must buy the correct phone for the service you want to use...you cannot swap carriers with this phone...
It has a Micro S-D card slot for up to 32 Gigs of storage. Bluetooth, 3G, and Web capable with a 2MP camera that also shoots video. The camera has a dedicated button on the side of the case for instant photo capture. Open the flip, press the button and take your picture. Photos look clear and crisp, even when shared to other phones or computers.
Bottom line: This is my second Tracfone in 4 years. I NEVER had a problem making or receiving calls. If the battery had not died on my first Tracfone, I would still have it. It was less expensive to get an entire new phone than to replace the battery. This one is better than my first one. AND GET THIS,,,all for about 8 bucks a month. I smile every time I use it.
HIGHLY recommend this phone.
I can not find anything to dislike with the a392g
