I got mine at Walmart for $29.88 when it first came out. Lowest price I've ever seen was $10. Some reviewers have paid $20. So don't pay too much!!! I bought the Tracfone version. This looks to be a really nice phone. It can take SD micro memory cards up to 32 GIGS. I have a 32 gig card installed & working. You can connect to your p.c. using a cable or a bluetooth adapter and send files between your phone & p.c. (NOTE: The cable will work ONLY if an SD micro memory card is installed.)

The phone plays music & talking MP3s. Phone also has a standard 1/8in headphone jack. It also plays videos & movies in the .3gp format. Even has a built-in FM radio. Phone includes a built-in speaker phone. During a call press the key below the word "Speaker" to turn it on. To turn it off press the key below the words "Spkr. off", Lots of neat features on this phone!

Calls & regular texting works fine. This phone also sends & receives photos. I have checked this on a 3G connection & it works well. Several users have commented that they are unable to send or receive photos. It appears to be a problem with their phone.. If you are having a problem, try using the mobile web feature of the phone. If it works, it shows that data is enabled on the phone. Data must be enabled to send or receive photos using mms messaging.

Package comes with everything, phone, battery, SIM CARD, ac wall charger, instruction booklet, Red Activation Card, and a bonus code booklet for 120 & 200 minute cards. When activated the phone will have 10 minutes & 60 days to allow for testing. (ALWAYS TEST YOUR PHONE BEFORE ADDING AN AIRTIME CARD). You will need to buy an airtime card to add minutes.

This is a GREAT flip phone! I have always preferred the flip style as it protects the screen and keypad from dirt and scratches and prevents me from "Butt-Calling" numbers by accident. I dislike screen locks and there is no need for one on the Alcatel 392G. It has features that many other phones do not have. The call quality is superior and people even asked how I was using a land-line phone outside. It is THAT quiet and clear. You can assign ringtones and speed-dial to your favorites...Hide your caller ID and download music...although I prefer the built FM radio while walking. I get tired of listening to the same music on my MP3. The radio requires ear buds to be plugged in to act as an antennae, but it works well in my area.
It has a Micro S-D card slot for up to 32 Gigs of storage. Bluetooth, 3G, and Web capable with a 2MP camera that also shoots video. The camera has a dedicated button on the side of the case for instant photo capture. Open the flip, press the button and take your picture. Photos look clear and crisp, even when shared to other phones or computers.
Bottom line: This is my second Tracfone in 4 years. I NEVER had a problem making or receiving calls. If the battery had not died on my first Tracfone, I would still have it. It was less expensive to get an entire new phone than to replace the battery. This one is better than my first one. AND GET THIS,,,all for about 8 bucks a month. I smile every time I use it.
HIGHLY recommend this phone.

I'm a retiree in my mid-60's and money is tight so I don't need to use my cell phone for the Internet or even texting for that matter. I just need something to get in touch with family now and then, and for emergencies. That being said, when I recently got my AT&T wireless bill, it was for $65 for 2 phones and we only used 5 minutes between the two of us! YIKE.

After researching phones and pre-pay plans I settled on the Alcatel 392G Flip Phone. The phones arrived within a week of when I ordered them. Prior to that I had gone on line and searched for "promo" codes to use when I added time from a time card. I bought 1 year 400 minute cards on Ebay for $81 each, the cheapest I found anywhere. As stated this phone doubles the minutes. With a 250 minute promo code that worked for both phones, we now have 1050 minutes, plus the 10 minutes and 60 days that comes with the phone for the next 14 months. That breaks down to $5.75 a month.

I activated the phones on line at tracfone.com, and used the activation option of porting (moving our old cell phone numbers) our cell numbers to the new phones. At the same time I set up an account on tracfone.com. I did not immediately get a confirmation email that I had done everything successfully until later, but it went without a hitch.

The seller of my time cards from Ebay sent me an email with the code - no card per se, but the code for each card I bought worked fine, no problems. As I said above, I also plugged in the promo code right after processing the time cards I bought. Some people will just activate with the 10 minutes they give you with the phone and wait until they're sure it works ok to put in the time card they bought, but I went ahead and did it all at the same time. No problems.

I bought this as a replacement for my w376g flip phone which still has some life and is an excellent device. I have no interest in smart phones since I have two tabets, aTom Tom gps, and a nice compact 16mp camera. I prefer a flip phone so that I can carry it worry free in my pocket. I charged the battery nine days ago and activated the phone and bought a years service. I made several short calls, set up voice mail, listened to the fm radio, took a couple of pictures and transferred them to my computer and started my contact list. The battery gauge reads empty, but is still putting out without ever turning it off. Pretty darn good after nine days. The ring tone could be a little louder. The telephone function works perfectly. The large keyboard and display are to my liking. Although with my w376g phone I can hold it in one hand and dial numbers with my thumb, but can not do that with this phone. Really not an issue. The fm radio sounds good with a headset (doubt that I will use it much). The camera is much better than I expected for with a fixed focus. Photos are easily transferred to a computer via a usb cable. Surprise, the fm radio and camera don,t use any minutes!! The owners manual is not the greatest. But, tutorials are available at the Tracfone web site. A first time cell phone user might need a little help setting it up, but anyone who has owned a cell previously should have no trouble. Highly recommend!!

I can not find anything to dislike with the a392g
