What I never considered is the woman I married. She twists my insides and forces me to feel things I never wanted to feel. But I am not a knight in shining armor, I am the devil dripping in blood. About the author

Born and raised in South Africa, I now live in the Northern Cape in a small mining community by the name of Kathu. At 35 years old I have been with my husband for 16 years, although we have only been married for nine. Together we have a beautiful 16-year-old daughter.
For years I wanted to follow my passion for writing but always doubted myself. After finding my publisher and releasing my first novel I was able to build up my confidence and move forward with my fledgling career.

Guilia doesn't want to marry Salvador but growing up in the mob world, she was raised to do what was best for the family. He father made the arrangement for Guilia to marry Salvador and just when she was about resigned that this was her fate, an opportunity presented itself in the form of Alceu.
Alceu and Guilia enter into a marriage of convenience that will benefit both of them. They both laid out the terms they were agreeable with but quickly realized they were each other's perfect partner. I loved the way Alceu and Guilia accepted everything about each other and were open to changing the terms of their marriage. Guilia was the perfect queen to reign along side her king, and not sit idly by. The more Alceu learned about his wife the more he realized she was not just perfect for him but also she balanced out him and his brothers. I loved every about this story and cannot wait for more Cammareri brothers.

Alceu is definitely a darker hero, but I had no trouble rooting for him. Giulia is strong and spirited, but never fell into the pitfalls of an "independent female character." She made consistently smart, understandable decisions that made it easy for me to like her and want her to succeed.
The story moved quickly and kept me turning pages until I got to the end, with a full cast of easily visualized characters!
This was a fast, exciting read and I absolutely recommend it. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for the next book, for sure!
and so likable! I was hooked by the first page. Can't wait for me!
Giulia has been trained by her father from an early age to be the "perfect" Mafia wife, run the household, have babies and ignore everything else. But she is smart and needs to get out of the arranged marriage with Salvador. Her father arranged it not caring that Salvador will break her.
Jade is a great storyteller and has created wonderful characters and the world they live in. With danger, angst, fear, steam and love our couple find their way to a HEA.
Alceu Cammareri is the head of a rival mafia family. He wants to incite a war with Salvador and has been told his weakness is his fiancee, Giulia. Armed with this knowledge, Alceu approaches her and offers her a deal. A marriage of convenience with him. It protects her from Salvador and he can't retaliate against her family because they'll know nothing of it. Neither of them plan on it being a marriage in the real sense, however feelings manage to creep in.
This was a short story and I often struggle with those. However, the author did a wonderful job of establishing detailed characters and a mafia world that they live in with very little time. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and didn't feel like anything was missing.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and the opinions contained within are my own.
While out shopping for her wedding dress for her arrange marriage; she would never choose Salvador herself; she is kidnapped! Alceu steals the bride and offers her a too good to be true scenario, marry him and he will keep her safe. Watch as their story unfolds and their marriage becomes more than just a business arrangement.
