About the author

Philip Wheeler was a member of the Restorers of Alchemical Manuscripts Society (R.A.M.S.). R.A.M.S. was formed in the 1970's by Hans W. Nintzel for the purpose of obtaining and restoring only the very best works on Alchemy. Most of these works are now available in The R.A.M.S. Library of Alchemy. Mr. Wheeler believes that the subject of Alchemy deserves further study. This belief is shared by many others, including Dr. Lawrence Principe, professor at Johns Hopkins University. While Hans Nintzel made these works available only to a select few, Mr. Wheeler has embarked on this long-term endeavor to make the entire R.A.M.S. library available to everyone.
