I got some thread wrapped around a part in my Pfaff 130. Machine was jammed, so ok take it apart EXCEPT one screw was petty stripped and being soft stripped more, I tried the rubber band, etc and no luck. Then stepped away for a year. Order smaller collets for Dremel to hold smaller drills and finally hit on the right search term to find these. The Dremel doesn’t have a reverse and the grabits close to too big, so I used the Dremel with a tiny bit to drill hole then took the Grabit drill side in hand drill and it caught and the screw came out. Totally worth it to me to save the treads on the machine and avoid a more complex teardown. I also mess with pc, games systems, etc so am sure I will used again. One thing I don’t like is the card in the storage box just has barcode on back instead of directions so I cut directions off packaging, storage box is cheap but at least it has one

These worked perfectly for a screw I had that the head was stripped out of a screw used to mount the red dot on my Sig P365. Used one end to enlarge the stripped out hole then used the other end with my drill in reverse and the screw came right out. It was SO worth the purchase price.

Used the 3mm size to remove a screw with a detached head from a G45 MOS slide. I reviewed the instructions and consulted YT and some forums for additional information. I was overly cautious at first and kept trying to use the extraction end before the hole in the screw was deep enough for the extractor to take hold. Anyone saying that the drill end of these do not work is incorrect. You have to make sure you are using the the drill in the reverse (counterclockwise) setting for BOTH the drilling and the extraction.
My client's options were very limited as the screw was only about 1 - 1.5 mm proud of the slide, had consulted with some expert pistol-smiths and confirmed there were very few options, the suggestions of course, flooded in, cut a slot in the screw and use a regular screwdriver (not enough meat on the screw shaft/not enough room; solder something to it and use that to unscrew it (maybe, but that would have to be an amazing solder job) Or get this device and in 20 minutes (should have been about 7, overly cautious) and the screw was out, no marring on the slide, no damage to the internal threads! Excellent bit of kit, won't use it often, but when you need it, you NEED it.

Updated again - I never received the promised replacement bit. So have to go with my original assessment. The bit broke while attempting to extract a very soft screw. I can't recommend the product. While I was initially impressed with their quick reply and willingness to replace the broken bit, that was a month ago and the replacement has not arrived.

Updated Review: The seller replied very quickly and is sending a replacement for the broken bit. Based on that and success using the other bits on a different screw, I'm upgrading to 4 stars for the quick customer service and the fact the bit worked on another screw without issue.

Tried to use it to remove a pickguard screw on a guitar. These are not hard metal, not stainless, they strip very easily. In this case though, the cutting end of the smallest bit broke very quickly and without actually accomplishing the task. I understand that stuff like that happens, so may adjust this pending the sellers response. Also - the tip shearing off like that result in the guitar being damaged - fortunately, the damaged area is under the pickguard as it skipped off to the side of the screw in that direction instead of out into the visible part of the guitar, otherwise I'd be even more furious.

Very happy with my purchase. I repair vintage toys/electronics and it’s very clear, that most parents were using micro Phillips instead of a #0 or #1 Phillips bc the screws get pretty bad- as the fate of a valuable one rested in my hands, I scoured amazon for the right solution. These are the perfect size for smaller screws and are good quality (glad I didn’t go with the cheap ones). First time using this, I was super bummed that it didn’t even budge the sucker, but luckily I decided to try the extractor end a size up from the drill bit- it hasn’t failed me yet.

Now they aren’t a magical solution, so you’ll still need to set yourself up for success by using a penetrating oil/lubricant like WD-40… just be aware that if you’re using it on a painted item (like I do sometimes), that the WD-40 will dissolve the paint so be careful to apply it precisely. And of course be sure your applying firm downward pressure and keeping your drill in reverse for the duration. Stripped screw removal is part science, part art form in my opinion. Every one is is a little different. But this has been a nice trump card for me so far after I’ve tried some less extreme options- at least for my application. Your mileage could vary depending on material or method, but seriously, use the next size up in extractor before throwing in the towel- makes the tool just a bit more effective.
