Quick Tips for Using Aleene’s Glue Tips
Did you know you can customize the size of the opening of your Original Tacky Glue tip? All you need is a pair of scissors! Cut the tip at the first ridge towards the top to create a small opening for thin lines of glue. For larger projects that require more glue, you can cut the tip closer to the base to create wider openings.

Buy as an ADD ON item, very inexpensive that way!!
Now I have 3 bottles of glue with no real use. What a waste for me - live and learn
First, it is super thick, gloopy, gloppy and very viscous. The thickness adds bulk to the project, causes uneven spread, lumps and bumps. Even using a new bottle, you turn it over and go to use it and have to count to five to wait for it to sloooooowllly make it's way to the tip. If your bottle is well used, count to 10. If you have the tip hole cut small for precision application, you have to squeeze SO hard to get it out of the bottle that my wrist and forearm were in pain after a few hours using the product. I am seriously still shaking out and massaging my wrist because it's so sore.
Second, it doesn't "catch" quickly enough. If you're just gluing one flat piece of paper to another flat piece of paper, the catch doesn't matter. But if you're gluing a 3D project and holding it at an angle trying to get things aligned while also applying pressure, if it takes forever to catch and adhere, it makes it much harder to use.
This is a complete no go even for practicing. I would give it to my 5 year old but he cant squeeze hard enough to use it.
There are only a few things that some people may not like, but I don't really mind. If you soak/coat the paper in glue, it will bend. This will happen if you soak paper products in any liquid, so I was expecting it. Once dry, I just put some heavy books on my paper to flatten it out and it was fine.
Second, there is a fairly long drying time. For a liquid, again, it's expected for there to be some drying time. This did not bother me because my project did not need to be rushed and I could easily just leave it overnight to dry completely and then some. However, if you have a time limit on your project or you're doing a group activity that involves keeping people's interest for "long" periods of time (30-45 minutes of doing a project), this glue may not work for that. In that case, I would suggest something like mod podge.

It is so much better than the glue provided in the kits. Very easy to work with, holds together without me having to hold pieces together. The price was excellent for 3 large bottles. worked perfectly for my diy"s!
Definitely would recommend for hobby people.
