Surprised. The stencil is metal. It has all sorts of combinations you can make. The holes are very thin and fine. You need to clean between uses so it doesn’t smear. I used it with gilding paint to enhance a boring dresser that I redid with a touch of decoupage paper.

perhaps 1/2 the size of a sheet of notebook paper but that's my fault for not pulling out a ruler but I'm still very happy w/ this & would like to buy more, however it IS pricey which is the only reason I knocked a star off in addition to being a bit small in size.
