I read this Hamilton bio in preparation for seeing Hamilton on Broadway. The telling is loaded with references to primary and secondary sources, assuring the reader of historical accuracy. The bio brings Hamilton to life with all his passion, humanity, and genius. Our nation is forever in his debt.

From beginning to end this is an incredibly written book! Only yesterday, I was extolling the virtues of Mr. Randall's writing to a friend because I never realized I would be so enthralled by the Revolution. Before I read this book, Alexander Hamilton was only an historical figure and familiar name that really showcased President Washington, etc. The writing was so good--it brought Alexander Hamilton back to life for me and fascinated me. It left me saying to myself, "What a man!" and "I wish I could have met him." Amazing read.

I have the privilege of knowing Hamilton's great- great-great grandson who is the last living C-47 pathfinder pilot from D-Day in World War II. I loved learning not only about a fascinating founding father but Also about Dav's family.

Good biography of this Founding Father. I had not known much about him before reading this biography, and was amazed at how much he accomplished in his life. This is a book well worth your time if you are interested in early American history.

Well written and surprisingly compelling. I though I was reasonably wwell versed in U.S. history, but I was fascinated by some of information. Also well-researched on daily life.

Very insightful and well written. It brings cleared understanding of how difficult democracy is.

It is a great book that gives insight into the young life of AH. It humanizes this Founding Father that surely would have become a great President had he not been shot to death. A book that everyone who picks up a $10 dollar bill and who knows very little beyond his name.

Excellent information in the book due to the extensive research done by the author. I learned a lot about Alexander Hamilton that I didn't know prior to reading this book.
