This is the BEST meditation chair I've ever seen! This chair has allowed me to actually continue a regular meditation practice. For years I would stop and start but this chair is comfortable and encourages me to meditate. I'm actually meditating for 15-20 minutes daily and can see such a difference in my life. I bought the dolphin gray and it's beautiful. The leather is lovely, the chair is comfortable and it looks nice in my home office. I highly recommend this chair.

The seat sits you off balance (legs higher than the buttocks) which causes your back to naturally slump to balance - requiring you to put effort into sitting straight....unless you sit forward. This design is totally against any meditation recommendation because it takes you out of meditation through a need to assert effort to keep your back straight. It should tilt forward, not back. Not sure why so many say they like it? It is also hard where you sit and my knees felt pressure to fold in the space. I can not comfortably put my feet in the area to the side that they provide.

I have four different types of meditation cushion and also a wooden meditation bench. None are tolerable for more than 15 minutes.....feet fall asleep, back hurts, etc. The Alexia meditation seat has allowed me to meditate for 45 minutes without wanting to squirm constantly. It is expensive, but I'm content with the value.

Summary: I love it, highly recommended.

I bought this because of pain in sitting, primarily knee pain. I had moved from half-lotus on a cushion to seiza, which became intolerable.

So I then moved to seated meditation in a regular chair, and it was okay but I did not feel grounded at all. And my rear hurt.

I cannot image a more comfortable way to sit than the Alexia. At first I felt it was tipping me backward a little too much, but I realized I just needed to scoot back, and the seat slopes up and supports.

It's expensive but very much worth it for me.

If you ever had trouble getting comfortable while meditating then this is the seat you've been looking for. It's super comfortable! I'm a big guy at over 210lbs and this holds my weight easily and comfortably. I used to focus on the pains I felt as my ankles pressed into the hard floor but now focus on how soft the chair feels against the bottom of my feet to get into my zone. I can practice meditation significantly longer now that I am in complete comfort. This was a great investment that will easily pay itself back.

I'm 62 years old and I have been having trouble sitting with the usual meditation cushions. My feet would go numb and my ankles and knees hurt. After 20 minutes of sitting, I had trouble getting up. I had to massage my feet to restore the blood flow just to move them.
Like many of the people commenting, I hesitated to buy this because of the price but I finally decided to try it. I'm very glad I did. Don't think of it as a meditation cushion because it really is a piece of furniture, like an easy chair, only one that is specifically designed for sitting in meditation. It is solidly constructed and well designed. The sides support my legs and keep the weight off my joints and feet and the back makes it easy to sit with my spine straight.
This morning, I sat for 40 minutes without discomfort or numbness. That's double the time that I had been sitting before buying this seat. I don't often leave feedback or reviews but I am very happy with this purchase.
