- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2018Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI consider myself as an advanced Grasshopper user. I was tempted to purchase this book to fill any gaps, I found the book helpful in explaining some of he principles that I usually overlook (multi-span Curves, mesh construction.....etc.).
although these general ideas sounds helpful, I was surprised with the amount of theories and research papers embedded in the book, The AAD book hosts additional research publications by professors and design crits. it discusses Parametricism , Fractals , Fabrication Techniques, Rapid Prototyping , Form Finding , Optimization and how the entire dilemma of human-computer interaction is impacting our cities and the environment.
If you are a grasshopper expert, you will find this book more rewarding on the values and visions of the AAD.
If you are just starting with Grasshopper, this book helps as a spine to guide you with your learning journey.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2023Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI’m probably like a 8/10 experienced grasshopper user but got this book, it’s a great reference to have and helps explain concepts that j kinda understood but this solidified those concepts.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2017Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseMy sister really wanted this book, and could find it nowhere else, so I bought it in the US and brought it to her in our country so she could have it. She studies industrial design, and has been making a career with 3D modeling, Rhinoceros, and lately Grasshopper for Algorithm Assisted Design, the last being a tool which isn't too much widespread yet in our countries' industrial design environment but which allows for complex design while increasing productivity a lot. She already had a lot of momentum, but this book helped her learn much more, and now that she just finished undergraduate, she'll continue on this career path in specialization courses and perhaps masters. Maybe she'll end up writing a book like this one in the future!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2016Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis is a good foundation work for grasshopper and making parametric/ algorithm based designs. There is a lot of duplication of things that can be found in free eBooks online, but never the less this a good book to have by your side.

Felli FelReviewed in Germany on September 4, 20215.0 out of 5 stars Für Anfänger optimal!

Thomas D.Reviewed in France on August 27, 20165.0 out of 5 stars Vraiment top pour les nouveaux venus sur grasshopper
