I teach an undergraduate course in Algorithms and, while I don't use Cormen's textbook in that course, this book actually makes a great supplementary text. Many students are intimidated by the rigor of something like Cormen's textbook but find this readable, engaging, and helpful. Not sure it's accessible to someone with a limited background in Mathematics or Computer Science...

A really nice concise little gem to read on a long journey or just for an afternoon - I have many old editions of the authors seminal works 'Cormen, Leiserson, Rivest, and Stein' Introduction to Algorithms - this books is a really nice little read that serves to spark interest in young programmers or scientists who may have an interest in algorithm development, optimization or use.

Very straight forward explanation of topics. Past books that try to explain these concepts are usually very wordy and not concise. This book, on the other hand, gets down to the point and is written so that even non-programmers can follow along.

The book does not serve its purpose. The explanation of the algorithms is quite confusing. As an example, just Read p77 - linear order, list, array all over the places. The author brings in unnecessary abstractions which can only confuse new learners.
