Definitely one of the BEST in the Ufology-Alien Visitation/Manipulation field. Jim Marrs breaks it down quite lucidly, if not exhaustively in a seminal work here. ALL subjects covered and evidence prominently displayed--his writing/presentation outstanding. Anyone interested in expanding their mindset and outlook on life need look no further...this is the primer you've been waiting for.

This is probably one of the best books ever written on the UFO topic. Jim Marrs combines documented data, personal stories and great story teller flair to make one incredibly entertaining read.

I bought this book, wanting to collect some of Jim Marrs works. I had always enjoyed interviews on radio shows, and teachings which are shown on Utube. When I saw the opportunity to buy this book in a hard cover version, I was very happy. The book arrived in the mail quickly, and I made this book the first to read of Jim Marrs books I had ordered. Like the many intelligent, and informative interviews Jim Marrs gave. This book was a good choice to read first, of the many books Jim Marrs wrote. The quality of the hard bound book is an added plus. I must read all of Jim Marrs books now. This book was an absolute captivating, and enjoyable book to read, and I highly recommend Alain Agenda by Jim Marrs.

An interesting and very well written book for anyone interested in the UFO theories and myths.
Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2015Verified Purchase
I have had an interest in astronomy, space travel and UFOs most of my life. In my impressionable youth I began as a believer that UFOs were being operated by advanced beings, but I changed into a scientific minded skeptic concerning this long held UFOs from outer space myth. Nevertheless, I still read all points of view on this topic to see if anyone has come with any true scientific proof of UFOs coming from space. I had picked up this huge 657 page paperback (Alien Agenda: Investigating the extraterrestrial presence among us by Jim Marrs) published in 1997 for a bargain price on Amazon.
Even though I do not agree with the author’s conclusions, he is a fantastic writer and presents his case in a very convincing manner. The 12 chapters and the lengthy introduction cover an enormous amount of material. There is no question the author has devoted a lot of time to researching this topic. Chapter one covers “The greatest UFO?” This refers to theories about our moon. Chapter two explores the ancient astronauts’ hypothesis. Chapter three deals with the military observers of UFOs. Chapter four focuses on the Roswell crash and other interesting topics. Chapter five covers “plausible deniability” on the UFO topic. Chapter six explores UFOs underground. Face to face encounters are dealt with in chapter seven. Chapter 8 was very interesting about missing time and the UFO abduction myths. “Death from the sky” was covered in chapter nine. Crop circles were focused on in chapter ten. Chapter 11 explored “in the mind’s eye” UFO cases. The final chapter provides a metaphysical approach to the UFO phenomena. The epilogue covers new realities.
In conclusion, whether you are a skeptic or a believer you will find this book interesting and informative. Even though the author is clearly a believer in the esoteric aspects of the UFO mythology; nevertheless, he presents his case in a way that makes this a very readable and fun book to read. It made me smile and even laugh at times at some of the theories made about UFOs.
Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Never Trust a Politician: A critical review of Politics and Politians).

If you're new to the whole UFO topic, this is a hard-hitting, but sometimes slow-reading introduction. If you've already read everything written, it's a concise review. Marrs doesn't use the most exciting or creative writing style in the world of books. But the information is as objective as you'll find. If you really think we're the only life in the cosmos, don't bother. But if you find the possibility of life 'out there' intriguing you'll appreciate this book.

This book is not full of rhetoric but loads of reference and witness testimony. It was easy to read as the words flowed and every sentence made sense. Even the skeptic will find credible detail to this controversial phenomenon. There are some surprises as the title of the book suggests. If you want something more than cliche stories of alien abductions and flying saucers, this book will likely do the trick.

'alternative earth'
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 15, 2011Verified Purchase
this is the second book that i have read by this author - the first being 'rule by conspiracy' and as usual marrs offers an alternative insight into the machinations of planet earth and who is really controlling things. i say alternative but it's really about what's actually going on right under our noses although we are so busy with our lives that we don't necessarily recognise it.
don't be fooled by the title, it is a serious dissertation on the subject - due diligence has been paid to research. personally, i feel that the better book of the two is 'rule by conspiracy' and would highly recommend that one as the better read as marrs repeats some of the data from that book in 'alien agenda'.

I bought this book last yr in a buying frenzy to find out exactly what is going on with the alien abduction phenomena and in that respect the book deilivers quite a lot of information although most of what he has written can be found in other sources this book is a gem for the fact it makes for further reading into each of the subjects he writes about..The book itself is easy to understand unlike some others authors tend to dwell on things which can be hard to comprehend at the best of times Jim delivers his understandings of this in a down to earth way a good read

... it is well put together and is in language easily understood by the reader

Although this book is dated (published in 1997) it is well put together and is in language easily understood by the reader, it appears to be well researched and factual by the author and does, on the face of it seem to be unbiased, whether or not one believes in the subject matter it is still a good read and gives food for thought, highly recommended.

Jim Marrs books are always worth a read, as he only puts facts in his book that he can prove with a recognised paper trail.
This book is one of the best selling UFO books of all time and it's easy to see why, well worth a punt.
