I'm always the first to admit I don't like cliffhanger endings, but this story felt like it ended on a tease for the next story, a reminder the true happily ever after has not yet been reached, and a beautiful moment of shared hope and love... so I can almost forgive the fact I was frustrated there wasn't more story right there waiting for me. ;)
Can't wait to see what happens next.
Almost as soon as I started reading it, the phrase "there 's no place like home" started running through my mind, though the tone, and meaning with which I was thinking it changed as their characters went on a fantastic adventure. This was not a story of two people caught up only in themselves or one another. It is a story about two people in love who are looking for a place they will be accepted, and that will accept them.
Jessie and Yahn care, they are passionate, and perhaps the greatest thing about these two characters is that I'm not simply talking about their relationship with one another. Every where they go. In every thing they do, their passion, and compassionate nature finds a way to shine through, even at the end of this book where they are, through actions, finding ways to reshape how people think.

In the year 2978, Jessie Hampton finds herself joining an army expedition team in order to help her pay for college. This beautiful young woman with long, brown hair and doe-like blue eyes has no idea what will befall her when her crew lands on Karkast, a barren planet that has just been attacked by the evil Sarceastians, phantom-like aliens with evil, red eyes.
On Karkast, she comes face to face with Yahn, one of the last surviving members of his race. Although she is supposed to capture him and bring him in, something compels her to keep her mouth closed. She felt a strong attraction for this human-like creature with blue skin. When one of her crewmembers tries to attack Yahn, she defends him and is immediately thrown into an adventure fraught with danger.
Now, Jessie is a fugitive and a traitor whose only friend is the very creature she as supposed to have captured. This friendship will quickly begin to turn into an intense attraction, which will quickly turn into true love. Yahn and Jessie escape and find themselves on the run in a hostile universe that doesn't look very kindly on the union of an Earthling and a Karkastian. They will have many close calls and run-ins with the evil Sarceastians and the Army crew that seeks to bring Jessie and Yahn to justice. They visit strange planets and colonies, seeking a peaceful place to call home.
Can they find a planet where they can settle down or will they only find hostility?
