Post-Armageddon earth is barely able to keep its human kind alive. Lindsey is one of those survives along with her mom and dad. She must make a choirs to help them all out. Strike a deal with a downed shuttle of Kalquorians of low ranking.
Lindsey is a strong character in this book. One whom makes choices to benefit her family while keeping secrets of her own from the clan. The writing draws you in, story keeps you going and the sex makes you blush. Well done.

Ok. I do like this series I have read the first 5 books and although some parts had some cringe factors I enjoyed it enough to keep reading. BUT, and I can’t believe I am saying this, there is way to much sex. There is a delicate balance between sex and story content that you have to work with, especially with multiple partners. The author does not respect his balance. So not only are the sex scenes very long but they are constant. It’s almost like you celebrate when you get actual progression in the story. Let me break it down even further, this book is about 200 pages it seems as if only about 80-100 pages of it that is actual story content, and I feel like that is a generous approx. . Also, I really wish that there was actual m/m in the books. I mean all these clans are supposed to be bisexual and the culture the guys are from preaches a whole sex is sex, love is love vibe but there is no real sword crossing content. If your gonna write about WRITE about it, ya know. I think I know and understand the authors hesitation, about appealing to a larger demographic. But for someone such as myself, who enjoys reading about all forms of physical intimacy, it is just frustrating. Also I wish the story actually showed a HEA. I mean I know they are all connected so you eventually/maybe get to see farther into the characters lives but ending the stories so abruptly feels kind of hollow. You don’t get to experience these futures or HEAs with the characters you just spent time getting to know. I am constantly left without my warm and fuzzies in this series no matter how much I enjoy the book, which sucks.
*spoilers*
So speaking of an acceptable HEA moment for this book. Maybe they are back on Kalqour(not sure I spelled that right) and are having their first baby. (I mean that’s why they are mating with the earthers right??) It’s one of the happiest family moments a family unit can have and I want to be apart of it, dangiit!! Or maybe she is pregnant when she gets to Kalqour and gets to share that moment with her sister. And then she has the baby (did I mention I really want to read about the babies? This is a series about breeding. Where are all my baby scenes?!?!!!) I was really looking forward to the Jess/Lindsey reunion. But nothing. Sigh.

But in the end I really like the unique twist on this series and the culture and world building the author has done. So as much as I wanted to give it 3 stars due to my warm and fuzzy withdrawals. It wouldn’t be right. But also due to my issues I also couldn’t give it 5 stars. So 4 stars is the compromise.

I just read this book again. I think it's about the 5th or 6th time now. When you read one of Tracy's books, you can tell that she cares about her characters and that she takes her time to fully develop them and the world they live in. Unfortunately this does mean we have to wait a while between books so when I am in need of a Kalquor fix, I just reread one of the stories I already own. Every time I reread them I find new things to love about them. I do recommend that you read them in order, just so you can fully enjoy them, but they can be read as standalone books.

My New Year's resolution this year is to write reviews for all the books I read so as I reread these books I'll be posting reviews for them.

In this book, the MCs Lindsey, Bacoj, Japohn and Vax are fully fleshed and richly detailed. She has placed these characters in a world that is falling apart due to the horrors of a war between the 2 cultures.

Lindsey is a strong woman who has survived untold hardships so she is a bit damaged and leery of trusting these men. She doesn't have much choice but to approach them though or her parents may die. This is one of the few stories I've read where the heroes aren't completely confident in themselves yet. They are struggling to find their place in the world and within their clan. I love how they bring out the best in each other and help each other grow and become stronger people. I loved reading about each and everyone of them. The secondary characters of Lindsey's parents are sweethearts that add a lot to the story.

Now for the 'bad' news. Fair warning . . . this is an UGLY CRY story! I mean swollen eyes, dripping nose, use 1/2 the tissues in the box, crying. It starts about 3/4 of the way into the book, so be sure you have your tissue box within reach.

I highly recommend this series of books to anyone who likes menage, romantic sci-fi and characters that you end up wanting to take home with you. Oh, did I mention the steamy and sizzling hot love scenes? Tracy pens a mighty fine love scene!!

There are reviews on this book that really shouldn't be here. If you don't like the subject matter, why in this universe would you buy this or accept an ARC for it?

I've read other "alien menage" series and I have to say that this series is as good (or better) as any out there. This author's writing is easy to read and emotional in impact. The stories are extremely erotic MFMM and MMM is hinted at but not described in any sort of detail. This is all about the woman and she is most definitely one very lucky lady. The matara of a clan is treated with respect and desire. The men in the clan know that she is the key to the future of their people since there are few females on their planet able to give birth.

If you are new to this genre, give it a try if you are tempted by the subject matter. If it offends you, move onto something else. If you enjoy this series half as much as me, you'll have found your new best read.

Just looking back on some of Tracy's books (while waiting eagerly for her next book, called Michala, First Mataras) I couldn't understand why there were't more write ups for this one. It was brilliant, and as a previous reviewer gave all the synopsis brilliantly, I can only say what a special book this was. I purchased this probably in 2012 but was remiss in not writing a good review. As it's now 2014 I am ashamed I didn't. Please try all of Tracy's Clan books, you won't be sorry.
