Alienware 15 15.6-Inch Laptop
The rush is real.
Engineered with no-nonsense design that gives gamers what they want, the all new Alienware 15 is built thin without sacrificing performance. It’s crafted with aerospace-inspired carbon fiber that provides styled stiffness and impressive durability. It’s outfitted with copper heat sinks that enable proper cooling and full-throttle graphics performance. If that wasn’t enough, Alienware 15 also includes a USB Type-C port with support for SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps and Thunderbolt 3 technologies.
Solid-State Drive (SSD): Solid-state drives are similar to the flash-based memory that you find in USB memory devices and have no moving parts, making them more secure and less prone to failure than standard hard drives. SSDs also pull your data from the drive faster and outperform 10,000 rpm Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) in read/write speeds, meaning you’ll also get faster load times on game maps and other information that’s stored on your device.
Intense inside:With the latest generation Intel processor for truly intense action, the Alienware 15 is equipped for a seamless gaming experience. Intel offers the only processors that allow you to hyper thread so your machine will run as eight virtual cores, powering through in parallel.
Dynamic overclocking: Alienware 15 automatically overclocks and monitors internal temperatures to keep your system running cool when the action is hot and deliver performance precisely when you need it.
Newer, faster, better: Performance gets a massive shot in the arm with the introduction of new PCIe SSDs in Alienware 15. Capable of up to 5.3 times the bandwidth of previous generation SATA SSDs, games, media and everything else you loves loads faster, and gets you into the action sooner.
Extend your reach.
DDR3 memory: Alienware 15 supports DDR3 running at 1600MHz and has overclock potential via the BIOS, so you have the opportunity to crank out maximum performance.
Mobility meets connectivity:Hook up your favorite accessories with the new superfast USB Type-C port, offering speeds 2x as fast as USB 3.0 with SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps (USB 3.1).
Blow your hair back: Use your USB Type- C port as a Thunderbolt 3 port, and experience 40Gbps (4x the USB 3.1 protocol).
2. USB Type-C with support for SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps and Thunderbolt 3 technologies
3. SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Ports
4. RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet IPv6
5. Alienware Graphics Amplifier Port
6. HDMI (2.0 Output with NVIDIA /1.4 with AMD) Output
7. Power/DC-in Jack
8. Noble Lock port (cable and lock sold separately)
9. Headphone 1/8" Port (retaskable for Microphone/Line-In analog audio input)
Cutting edge craftsmanship.
Carbon fiber craftsmanship:Inspired by aerospace technologies, the carbon fiber composites in Alienware laptops deliver a unique rigidity and high stiffness-to-weight ratio. The result is a whole new tactile experience.
Sleek. Solid. Aluminum.: Displays this good require serious protection, so we encased them in an anodized aluminum shell that matches the hinge strength and structural rigidity and boasts a new, iconic design.
Cooler with copper: Churn out maximum power while keeping your cool. Copper thermal modules allow your graphics cards and processors to perform at the highest level while the heat pipes and blocks prevent overheating.
Guaranteed up to 10 million keystrokes: Experience the sensation of uniform feedback with the reinforced steel plate of our TactX keyboard, which also protects internal components from debris. Launch shortcuts to applications or even macros in-game, thanks to five customizable keys capable of up to 15 unique commands, programmed via the Alienware Command Center software.
Rigorously tested for robust durability: Alienware laptops are tested to stand up to tens of thousands of functions : power button pushes, hinges opening and closing, twists, turns, and up to 1 million touchpad strokes. We test hard so you can game hard, reliably.

This is a fantastic laptop. I purchased through the Amazon warehouse for an extra 10% off and was surprised to find that it was brand new (unopened) and not "used" as the title described. I was happy about that. This review is about 1 month into using the laptop. I strictly bought this computer for gaming and nothing else.
As far as the laptop goes, the graphics card is acceptable and I can max it most games for 60 FPS or more (typically without AA). I got 45-60 FPS on Rise of the Tomb Raider with a mix of high/very high settings. The 1080P screen is also good. I know some people were having issues with the screen so I did take that into consideration before purchasing. I wanted the 4K screen, but honestly it was too much for just "eye-candy."
The SD and HDD are running well and have had no issues there. The RAM is solid and really quick. The Skylake processor is also really nice, quiet, and fast. Overall, the temperatures have been steady and nothing over 74-76 C at full load.
The different light combos are also a nice touch. I totally forgot about them changing during games until I was playing Dying Light and saw the lights change as I was playing. It's a nice feature that was unexpected.
The only issue I've had was with the Killer wireless card (wifi not ethernet). For the first few days I was using it, the wifi would completely drop and disappear from the computer and I would have to restart the computer in order to have wifi again. After I disabled the bandwidth control in the Killer settings and in the device manager I was able to get it working, but there are still intermittent problems with the card/driver. I'm not sure if there is an option to buy the Alienware laptops with the Intel version of the wireless card like Alienware's website, but if there is just get that one because Intel's cards have always been better. I'm not sure why Alienware still uses Killer.
I also decided to purchase the Graphics Amplifier two weeks ago since it was only $175 on Amazon (not $200-300 like Alienware's website) and I put a 980ti in it. I may sound like a fanboy, but having a desktop/laptop combo like this truly is amazing. The 980ti rips through everything I own and there is no CPU bottlenecking that I've noticed. I noticed a slight bottleneck with some CPUs from the last generation, but not with Skylake. I can achieve 60FPS on Witcher 3 at Ultra settings with HairFX maxed and the laptop/AGA could do way more. I know Razer is doing a similar thing with their CORE idea, but since there are not a lot of other options at the moment, this combo is definitely worth looking at.
Only one month in and so far everything has been good (except the wifi situation, but it's mostly resolved). People complain about Alienware because they are so expensive, but I know that if you get it for the right price (a.k.a. what the competitors have priced their comparable laptops at) it is a great machine. I basically have two computers-in-one for a little more than a full desktop set-up so that is definitely worth the money to me. I will update this review in 6 months to a year regardless of any changes. Feel free to leave comments or ask questions and I will do my best to answer them.
The specs and price fit the bill. I was concerned since I have had very hit/miss purchases with "used" devices before but I have to admit the laptop looks brand new (as described). The system seems to be working well after a "hiccup" with the operating system being installed on the hard drive instead of the SSD (which was not even formatted or viewable at first). I have been running this thing through the paces over the past few days with no issues. I will update this review as time goes on. I am sad to say that I only have 75 days worth of warranty and for that it gets three stars (even refurbs come with at least 90 days).
Been real good to me. been one year since i bought this and this is what im leaving you this review on. no viruses. i bought two opolar jet coolers with this and i have never had a problem with this laptop exept with some games rarely but i believe it did not have to do with the alienware but rather the games servers
Excellent gaming laptop. With Alienware, you're usually paying a little extra for the look, but I think it's worth it as this thing looks pretty awesome. I'm not going to get into the specs much with this review because that information is available elsewhere.
Pros: -Very fast laptop with lots of memory (If interested in comparisons of specs, see any tech site on the internet :P) I just finished playing the last installment of the Starcraft II series on Ultra settings. It looked beautiful and ran incredibly well! -Fully customize-able LEDs (colors, patterns, themes, etc.) I think there are about 12 different zones on the inside and outside of the laptop that can all be customized independently. This was something that I was a little worried about because all I saw was the ugly yellow in all the pictures from Dell and wasn't sure if you could actually change them all. Rest assured, you can! -Macro keys are kinda cool (haven't messed around with them too much at this point) -1080p display (this model) is very good. (Not sure if the 4K display is worth the extra $400 cost on a 15" display) -Very slick look on the outside. -Capable of combining with the Alienware Graphics Amplifier (peripheral that is sold separately which allows you to essentially add an extra graphics card) Note: after paying $1500-$2000 for a laptop, you then would need to pay ~$300 for the Amplifier, then $XXX for another video card... Doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. Anyway, I haven't seen a need for it yet since the laptop on it's own is quite a beast.
Cons: -No number pad (not a big deal, but I got used to it on my other 15" Asus laptop) -If you're utilizing the trackpad for prolonged gaming be warned that there is a rather sharp edge (not like razor sharp :), but uncomfortable to rest your palm against) on the front of the laptop (below the trackpad) that is rather uncomfortable. (I already hear you, "Just get a mouse dummy!" and that is a good solution, but I like to play games on the couch and don't always have a place for the mouse/pad). Just something to keep in mind. :) -The trackpad is a little odd for me (may just need a software update or something) because I'll be scrolling down a page and suddenly it will jump all the way to the bottom... Still haven't figured out why it's so sensitive or if I'm doing something wrong, I did try changing a bunch of the settings, but no luck so far. (If anyone knows, please feel free to let me know! Thanks!)
Overall, I really like the laptop and would buy it again. Hope this review helps.
